It's just pathetic to me that these "previews" can't check their facts first...

"Among the returning starters is guard Ron Lewis, who led the team in scoring (17.0 ppg), in addition to grabbing 4.7 rpg and dishing out 2.9 apg."

that's the SECOND time that website has jacked up our info. wasn't it sportsnetwork.com that had us losing to Northwestern last year? What a bunch of bozos. They make CFN look like the New York Times! (Okay, bad example...

they at least make them look like the Blade!)

I propose that we begin calling Ron Lewis "Ron Whois?"....
I'm going waaaay out on a limb and predicting at least 18 wins this year.

18 is fine with me. Now that "Ron Whois" is gone, Dakich won't have to give him special babysitting attention. We have steven wright just waiting to bust out and Reimold is constantly being looked at by NBA scouts, so he should be on fire. I think 18 wins can happen because these guys are going to play real basketball, not get ron whois the ball basketball.
Reimold being looked by NBA scouts????????????????

Really?

Are you sure about that? I know Reimold gots decent size at 6'6 and is excellent shooter but I'm thinking he's just too slow to be getting a serious look. How's he gonna be able to guard anyone in the NBA? I sure like to see it though.

I do not tell a lie. From the lips of Dan Dakich, Reimold had the Pistons coming in on Wednesday. It may be hard to believe, but he can shoot the crap outta the ball.

Reimold could actually be used in the pros for what he should be used in college. A guy that plays 12-15 minutes and gives you a "Steve Kerr" option shooting the three off the bench. Now the downside is, Reimold will be asked to guard NBA 3's for that time as well. That should be a lot of fun, considering some of the defensive highlights we've had over the last two years or so.
I have a hard time believing he'll be drafted or is being "scouted" though. Remember over the summer this is the same spin cycle that had Ron Lewis leaving because of his aspirations to play point guard.
The result, he signs with the only school in the state where they already have 4 point guards.

if Johny Riems goes to the Pistons, i will retract my statement that the NBA isnt a sport, and I will once again watch it.

I'll watch the entire playoffs instead of just the finals if that's happening. The rest of the NBA just doesn't entertain me anymore...

Reimold is an above-average defender, IMO, it's just that he often gets stuck guarding the other team's best player because DD expects that out of his star. That's why, I think, he is always dog tired.
Secondly, the NBA instituted a rule a few years ago allowing zone defenses....Reimold is an excellent rebounder for his size, and I don't think his defense/rebounding would be an issue at the next level.
Any seconds?

I think its more that he gives it all hes got the entire time hes on the court. That the kind of player he is. And thats why he'll succeed after college. BGSU has a long history of making players with the strongest work ethics out there. John is no exception. He is the anti-Ron. Reimold out out more effort than some entire teams.

Defense in the NBA? That's what you call it?
