Well, if there’s one team BG has really struggled with over the past five years or so, it would no doubt be Western Michigan. WMU owns the longest current winning streak of any MAC team against BG at eight games. BG hasn’t beaten WMU since the 2001-02 season. In fact, WMU has not only won its last four games at Anderson Arena, it has beaten BG at University Arena by an average of 20 ppg as BG has suffered setbacks of 63-46, 88-73, 77-52 and 84-62 in its last four visits to Kalamazoo. WMU is 11-9 overall and 5-2 in the MAC. The Broncos have won seven of their last ten games including four of their last five contests. WMU is 6-1 at home including a mark of 3-0 in the MAC. Western’s only loss at home was a two-point defeat to Northwestern back on December 8th. The Broncos have a solid rotation and go about 10 deep. G David Kool (15.3 ppg, 48 threes) and C Joe Reitz (15.3 ppg, 7.6 rpg) give WMU a tough inside-outside punch. We’re going to have to play very well up there to get a win on Saturday as WMU appears to be the class of the MAC West.
