Brochure from the AD...

Anyone else get this sweet brochure in the mail? It details the workings of the athletic department and how the teams have done over the last few years...included budget news as well.

There was a drawing of what the new Convo center may look like as well as a drawing of the ice arena. It's hard to describe in words but if the new Convo looks like that drawing, it will be freakin SWEET!!!! The IA has a BiG digital scoreboard and video board at the open and looks like the roof was raised.

Great stuff....I appreciate GC sending this stuff out to keep us updated...

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!

Mike, See the thread "reaching for the next level"...It makes reference to what you're talking about.... We WILL see you on Mar.1, along with 2 of our friends, who decided to come after all...The wives may decide NOT to go to the hockey game (Joyce isn't enthralled with "freezing" after 2 BB games), but Bob and I are definitely in...did you get he Alumni outing info on this, including the wings and sub party? If not, let me know and I'll forward the info to you. 8)

I think this probably contains the same info that was sent out.

Join the Falcon Club and you become privy to all sorts of info. and cool mailings not to mention Centre Ice Club.

I don't mean to sound like a dick with that answer and I know students budgets are tight, but for just $50 you can become a member at the Young Alumni level.

Falcon Club memberships make great birthday, Christmas, graduation, flag day, president's day, arbor day, opening day, May day presents.

I used to be a falcon club member. The student level membership no longer exists. There is a Recent graduate level membership that took its place.

I have been asking FC members and reps all year about it and have been met with no one being able to explain it.

Student memberships are considered in the Young Alumni Level. It was thought that it would be better to combine the groups and offer one level at the same low price. I know many people who joined as Young Alumni even before they were true Alumni.

I am not a Falcon Club member and I have often wondered why in the hell I was never asked. (Yes I know that I can just sign up, but that's not my point here) They do some kind of big "sign up drive" every May (I think) and I keep thinking someone will call me. I mean I have bought football season tickets, my kids have been in the kids club, I have bought bowl game tickets, my kids have attended camps at the University. My name should be all over a list that several different departments could generate for the Falcon Club listing people who are potential members. I know I can't join at the $10,000 level or anything, but I would think if they were doing some real marketing, that somehow someone would have contacted me. :?

My membership expired in August, and I still haven't gotten a call asking for my renewal. I still get the Falcon Club e-mails, and I did get a voice mail last night thanking for my contribution to the Falcon Club, but I'm no longer a member.

I keep meaning to sign backup, but forget to. It'd be a lot easier if they'd just call me and ask me to renew :)

Someone could scan the document in, and post it as a PDF file.

The new convo center photos look awesome! The building itself looks quite similar to new Goggin Arena in Oxford. Im liking what I'm seeing. Now I just wish we wouldnt have to wait until 2011 to see these dreams come to fruition.

I'll do it, if I remember to bring it to work tomorrow. I've got the brochure, but no scanner at home.

You can easily access information about the Falcon Club on the BGSU Falcon website. Here is the link:

http://bgsufalcons.cstv.com/boosters/fa ... index.html

As for the question about getting a call to join, that, unfortunately is very hard for the group to do. There are only two full-time staffers for the organization with a part-timer and interns. They have had done calling efforts in the past, for example, to players parents and athletic alumni. That effort took many resources and many volunteers. You can only dip into that bucket so many times.

The Falcon Club tries to direct interested folks to the website because it is nearly impossible to make individual contact with all alumni, even season ticket holders. Information is included with ticket order forms and the like when mailed.

The people in the athletic department are some of the most hard working individuals around. I think this site helps the Falcon Club out immensely.

And I thought nobody was interested after the last thread about the brochure died. :o

The arena has a nice clean look but those corners where the seats are buried and some possibly facing forward aimed behind the rim need to be fixed but the general idea is good. Hopefully this is a starting point.
