BG FANS: Top-25 Kent State is coming to BG this Saturday!!!!

Kent State is ranked #23 in the AP Poll and #24 in the ESPN/USA Today Poll this week. Kent State has beaten BG six.....count 'em, SIX....consecutive times at Anderson Arena. That is six times way too many! We could make a huge statement at ending that streak this weekend and what a great opportunity at a big-time victory for this team. Let's get a great turnout and pack Anderson Arena in the season finale and knock off a ranked team! Please come out and support this team people! Is our last win over a ranked team when we beat Top-25 EMU on Antonio Daniels' last-second layup back in the late 1990's (with the assist by Chris Daniels on tripping the EMU defender covering AD)?

Here are the new Top-25 rankings for this week: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings

My god I cannot believe this is our last home game of the season already. Damn time flies.

Same for the women, I just can't believe it. I'll be there for both no doubt.

I also can't believe it's the home finale already. But I'm really excited that we get a shot at a Top-25 team on our home floor. It's not often we face off against Top-25 teams any given year, let alone against a MAC opponent, and better yet, at home in Anderson Arena.

Maybe Kent State can win out and go to the mac championship and lose and get in as an at large?

Or, perhaps, we can just kick their ass, make them cry like girls, and leave them wondering "what if?"

I prefer my scenario. 8)

Big week for Kent State...I turn on Jeopardy and Bill Needle is one of the contestants?

....and he finished with $0 :D . Hopefully Kent State's fortunes are just as bad at AA on Saturday. Heckling the radio announcer might be a first....everyone shout up to Needle about his goose-egg in Jeopardy! GO FALCONS !

We don't air Jeopardy until 7:30 here... I may have to use you guys to win some wagers some day around the office.

Although I'm so good, they already think I'm cheating anyway!

EMU was indeed ranked when BG won on that Daniels layup (Jan/Feb 1996, I think). I also think Miami might have been ranked when we beat them in 1999. Not as close of a game, as I remember. I think those are the last 2 home games against ranked teams. Not sure of any others...

One thing that is unfortunate about the timing of this game is, most of the students will have already left or will be leaving campus for Spring Break. Not that we’ve been getting much student support this year anyway (but thanks to those of you that have been showing up), but it will likely impact the number that is there.

Who's the best NBA prospect in the MAC right now?

This might sound crazy, but I'd say that it could be Kent's Haminn Quaintance.

Kent's RPI ranking is #29. That's not bubble. That's IN. If they maintain that RPI, fail to win the MAC tourney, and then fail to get an at large, I'll just give up.

I don't think so 33. The diehard student fans are the ones showing up right now. They'll be there no matter what. The others, f**k em! They haven't shown any support to the team all year, and if they're gonna leave, then let them leave early and not care.
