#9 BG vs. #8 UT at 5:30 PM on Wednesday. Honestly, with all things considered, this is about as good of a bracket as we could probably expect to be in, in terms of possible match-ups. In the first round, we’ve already beaten Toledo this year. If we get to the second round, yes, we’d face #1 seed Kent State, but we did beat them this year and this was out last victory. If somehow we managed to get past UT & KSU, we’ve split against Ohio, Miami and Buffalo this year on that side of the bracket. While those three killed us on the road, we did get a win over them at home. Probably the best news for BG, both WMU (who has beaten BG nine consecutive times) and Akron (who has beaten BG seven consecutive times) are on the other side of the bracket. I know there’s a lot of wishful thinking above, but with 1968 firmly planted in our history, wishful thinking is about all we’ve got.
