Needless to say DD is not going to be the head coach at Indiana next year, the rich IU alums and fans won't allow it. I'm pretty sure they've seen enough.

Bowling Green State University in Ohio
The most bizarre sentence ever.

In the words of Dr. Skoog: "If you don't want something to get done, put it to a committee.

Or as the inspirational poster on my office wall puts it "none of us is as dumb as all of us".

Considering Indiana needs to clean up their image and win games at the same time, if they hire anyone else beside Kevin Stallings from Vanderbilt, they screwed up. I don't see Bruce Pearl leaving Tennessee. I know Indiana has the tradition and all, but at this point that would seem like a lateral move. Or even a backwards move.

Stallings is a Purdue guy...a Keady disciple. He'll never coach at IU.

A nice bump in the paycheck will trump old alliances every time.

Wherever JD Campbell and Dan Dakich go, there will always be a clusterf**k...and clusterf**k is officially the word of the day.

I heard the Ohio School for the Blind is looking for a new coach. Perhaps Dakich could get a job as the towel boy?

Did you want them to say Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green Ohio instead?

A bit wordy and redundant. If you believe The University at Buffalo is somewhere else but Buffalo, NY or The Ohio State University is (where is that big farm anyway?), then you're right. Make it unbizarre.

Yes, I suppose I should have qualified by statement. This article was written by an INDIANA newspaper (granted EVille, but STILL Indiana.) It's not like the author writes for the Sacramento Bee!

I have to defend DD a little here. Let me qualify by saying that I don't think he should be the head coach at IU. As someone growing up loving IU basketball, mainly because of Coach Knight, I want them to hire the right person with integrity. But after watching the games that Dan was the coach, his players never played well for him. Gordon didn't play well at all during that stretch. The team got beat by a HOT shooting MSU team on MSU senior day, got beat by two last second shots after that, and then didn't shoot well at all in the tournament game. They took bad shots, played pretty bad defense, and never played like they did for Sampson. He was in a no win situation from the beginning. I do believe that he is a great assistant, and probably at the right school would still be a pretty good head coach. But he is not suited for a big time school like IU. He left the same offense in that Sampson ran, but the players didn't run it the same way. That was their biggest downfall in their losses. They couldn't score consistantly.
