Eric Wallace transferring from OSU

As many of you know (or probably dont) I think that the best way to really build our football and basketball programs, after a great base in recruiting, would be to nab guys who are transferring from area schools but who were heavily recruited. It doesn't look like we will have another schollie for next year but here is a guy who fits that mold.

He didn't do much for OSU last year and his only Ohio ties appear to be OSU but this is the kind of guy I think BG can provide a fresh start too. And probably more importantly minutes and notoriety as one of the teams top players.

I don't really think you want your players gaining notoriety.

It would be a nice get. However, I don't think you can build a program on transfers or Juco guys. Once you reach a certain level you can bring those guys in. Transfers and jucos are for winning now not building your program.
The only way BG could get guys like this is if they are from the area or Coach Orr already has a relationship with them somehow.

This kid rode that bench for a middle of the pack Big-10 team that only had a 7 man rotation. That translates to him being a very ordinary MAC player. After 1 year in college, you no longer need to put as much stock in his HS recruitment -- you now have better information.

Good point, this was an Ohio St. team that searched for offense during certain stretches of the season and the kid never saw the floor.

I would still accept him with open arms.

Why? What do you know about him other than he was a *** HS player that didn't pan out at OSU? I'd expect this kind of OSU worship from tekinininininini...but c'mon.....I mean really...

The first thing I thought of when I read this post was Trent Jackson. He was a OSU transfer that gained "notoriety" here at BG.

I say let him slide right on by. This isn't 4 star recruit out of HS we'd be getting anyway. Lets not waste schollies here.

I don't like him. He's not big enough to play any sport here.

Just thought that "ill fame" may not be what you're looking for. If you want notorious players, hey- I'm all for it!

Why should BG get this guy? Because he rode the bench of a Big Ten school? What makes you think he would fit in at BG?
I am sure there are many reasons why he sat on the bench. I have trust in the coaching staff. If he could help BG, I am sure they would try to get him to BG.
Just because OSU recruited him doesn't mean BG should go after him.

He could be our Nick Dials.
