I'm thinking one of my entries into the NCAA Men's Final Four ticket lottery was good and that I've got 2 tickets to the Semis and the National Championship game at Ford Field this year. That's GOT to be an omen, right???

One would think, G man. That would be awesome if you won....especially after Coach Orr gets the Falcons to the Final Four!

Actually, it's now confirmed, I do have 2 tickets for the semis and the national championship game at Ford Field.

Would be nice to see some more orange and brown in there than just what I'll be wearing!
Cinderella starts now!!

I'm not sure who will be going with me. Should be an interesting deliberation... if the wife wants to go, she gets first dibs, of course, but we'll have a 4-5 month old baby at that point too... yoikes!?!
And, do I get a hotel up there for the weekend and book it now? or do I just do the commute from NW Ohio Saturday and Monday? And what happens between days? What is Final Four Sunday all about?!
I don't know... but I know I'm going to find out! WOO! I'm so stoked!!

Let it be on the record that I, Matt Van Wormer, was the first to ask if I could go with Grant to the Final Four and Championship games. Thank you. My lawyer will make a post later and I'm still trying to find a way to get a notary stamp on a website.

I think the ticket should go to one of the poor saps who suffered alongside ya at too many Dakich coached games. The same ones who risked life & limb through the snow to watch Kevin Netter lead the mighty Falcons into Akron.
Doesn't matter...if BG's in the final four, I'll be there no matter what it takes to make that happen.

At this point I think I would make the statement if BG's in the field of 64 I'll be there no matter what. I"ll view it sort of like my father did when the Indians made the playoffs for the first time in 1995- as he flew to Boston and Atlanta to take in as many Indians playoff/world series games as possible given the irregularity of their occurrences!

Agreed! So, maybe I'll be seeing SEVERAL NCAA tourney games this year?!

Well yeah I'll definitely be at any first round game as well.
No way I'm missing the opportunity to watch BG in the big dance when it comes up. I'd quit my job if it came to that, I think.

Congrats. I know when they have had the Final Four in Indy, they jack up the hotel prices by a few hundred a night. The Sunday between the games had different events and concerts. John Mellencamp did a live free concert downtown. If I remember correctly the concert ended just before a tornado ripped through downtown damaging an office building.
I avoided downtown that weekend, but I know they had events planned all week. From people who attended they said it was cool with a lot of free stuff that was given away.

I can't wait until the first time I fill out an NCAA Men's bracket and BG is on it.

In New Orleans back in '92 or '93, we went to the NABC host hotel and sat in the lobby and watched all of the big name coaches walk through. We were with our small-time Division III coach (who did not stay for the finals so we got to enjoy the Tar Heels victory).
Of course, anyone kind of enough to just give away a huge color pic of the FMB would probably be a swell fellow to give that extra ticket to!

lol.... I'll keep that in mind.
I'm as excited to just be in the "environment" of the Final Four as I am about seeing the games. I got to go to the first-round games a few years back in Cleveland when CSU hosted them and it was just basketball heaven. I'm sure this will be similar, but amplified to the nth degree!!

Sorry guys but the tix go to any guy who has ever sat around with Grant's dad and watched the National Playground Championships at 3 in the morning. That would be a REAL fan! And yes, there really is, or was, a National Playground Championship, featuring a lot of ex-college and occasional NBA guys whose names would only register with total basketball geeks.
