A reminder that the Orange and Brown scrimmage (intra-squad) will be held this Saturday (10/25) at 7PM in Anderson Arena.
I'm 99.9% sure there is no admission.
Anyone else going? I can't wait to hear the sneakers squeaking in there again!!

Wish it was in the afternoon! I've got plans and cannot make it Saturday night, unfortunately.
In the past they've never charged admission for scrimmages such as this.
Anyone that gets there for this, we'd appreciate a report

As of right now, I'm planning on being there. Hopefully, that doesn't change. I need a basketball fix.

My basketball jones has me awake at night. I'll be rolling in. Hopefully the whole crew will be able to play, including A'ustin Calhoun.

Brown and Orange Scrimmage Set for Saturday
Get your first glimpse of the 2008-09 Falcons, free of charge.
Oct. 22, 2008
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University men's basketball fans can get their first look at the 2008-09 Falcons in action on Saturday evening (Oct. 25). The team will hold a Brown and Orange scrimmage at Anderson Arena, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The event is open to the public and is free of charge.
Head coach Louis Orr and his staff -- assistant coaches LaMonta Stone, George Jackson and Louis Twigg and director of basketball operations Dave Clarke -- welcome back 11 letterwinners to the team. That list includes all 10 of last year's lettermen, headlined by seniors Darryl Clements, Nate Miller and Brian Moten.
Juniors Matt Karaffa, Marc Larson, Otis Polk and Ryan Sims also return to the team after lettering in 2007-08, as do redshirt sophomore Chris Knight and true sophomores Joe Jakubowski and Cameron Madlock.
Additionally, redshirt junior Erik Marschall returns to the Falcon fold. Marshall lettered in both 2005-06 and '06-07 before sitting out last season due to injury.
The Falcons will open the regular season on Nov. 14 at the NABC Classic in Minneapolis, Minn. The home opener is scheduled for Nov. 20 vs. Wayne State.

During the Dakich years, I think in Keith's senior year, there were some folks that tailgated in February.
Scrimmage report.....

Not a whole lot of people were there. Maybe 200? The OSU-PSU game is likely to blame for that I would assume as Dakich's last year the scrimmage was seen by quite few more people. The scrimmage was rather meh, not particular exciting but a few things stood out. Scott Thomas can definitely shoot and from long range and looked pretty good rebounding and playing defense as well given his slender 183lb frame. Dee Brown ran the offense pretty well for a frosh with only about 7 practices in. I could tell he'll be a good one. Marschall looked pretty decent for being out of game shape. I already see what an asset he'll be at the forward.
OP looked ok, but still looks a tad out of breath at some times. Couldn't really tell if he has really lost that much weight from last year. Calhoun did not play as didn't transfer Adrion Graves and Knight. From what else I could see, B-Mo looked very good in transition and with his shots, Millers still needs to keep working on the FT's though. I doubt he'll ever be above 70%. One thing that was rather weird was not hearing a coach running up and down the sidelines yelling and stopping the scrimmage to nit pick every darn mistake the players might have made. Coach Orr was mainly sitting down behind the scorers table and observing. At the intermission the players would go back to the locker rooms and then come back out like real game. Kind of refreshing. We'll know quite a bit more when we play the exhibition game later on in early Nov.
