Anyone planning on trudging through the snow to the game this evening? I think it's supposed to stop snowing around noon, hopefully the streets will be cleared up enough that we can get at least a few people to show up. I plan to be there.

Have to follow up that big win Saturday with a home win against a lesser BSU team.

Emails this morning said that BGSU is shut down until 1pm.

This game is going to be pretty important for the guys. Can't afford to lose games in conference to teams like BSU.

The weather outside might be frightful, but a BGSU Men's Basketball home game is oh so delightful!

The BGSU Men's Basketball game vs. Ball State TONIGHT (Wed. Jan. 28) is being played as scheduled. Tipoff is 7:00pm at venerable Anderson Arena. Kids 12 and under will now receive FREE Admission with the purchase of an Adult ticket. If you are a BGSU Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holder, please simply show your ticket(s) at the Anderson Arena Box Office Window prior to entry to receive your FREE Admission(s) for any kids you might bring along.

The Falcons are coming off an impressive road win at Ohio this past weekend, and looking to get back to their winning ways at home, so plan on joining us for this pivotal MAC cross-divisional showdown!

BIG game tonight and Big stretch vs the MAC West. need to get off to a good start and hopefully win at least 4 of 6.

All MAC west opponents not named WMU are all wins on paper... but such a cliche never translates to the court with this team so all bets are off.

To me, the short-term goal for the Falcons should be to be playing a MAC West Opponent (again, not WMU) in the first round at the Q in March.

If we go over 500 through the west, then go roughly 500 the second trip through against the East, BG should be in decent position to make a run. BG is capable of beating ANY team in the MAC (see: Buffalo game), and the tournament will be WIDE open.. all we can do at this point is best position ourselves for a run..

and it all starts TONIGHT!! GO FALCONS!!!

My son got a text saying classes were cancelled until 5. He was pretty happy this morning when he got the first one saying classes were cancelled until 1! He has an 8:30 class every day!

Well, I'll have to shovel the driveway when I get home. I'm sure I'll have a massive drift the way it was looking this morning with the wind. How quickly I can get that taken care of will determine whether or not I can make it to the game.

You going to be there Grant?

Not looking good at this point... it'll have to be a game-time decision. :-(

When was the last time that we both made it to a game? Weird season.

I know that I'll be missing a couple of the weeknight home games in Feb. too because 2 of them coincide with some dinners we're putting on for work. Free meals (one of which is at Rockwells), so I'm not complaining too much, but it looks like I'll miss more home games this year than I have the last 3-4 years combined.

According to my wife, we can't get in or out of my garage/driveway b/c of the snow and the way the plows have "cleared" the alley, so I need to go home and take care of that I guess.... *sigh*

I can pretty much guarantee my mailbox will be knocked over, and the way it was starting to drift when I left this morning I would not be surprised to have a 3-4 foot drift in my driveway when I get home. I'll tackle that and see what happens for the game. I hope to make it still, but not holding my breath.

For the second straight year, the city trucks have taken out my mailbox. Last year I was able to repair, this year it looks like a fatality. It's hanging on by two little screws now. But the city takes no repsonsibilty for this. It's my fault for having a mailbox where they are plowing. :x

Are you SURE?

I worked for the city all 4 years I was in college and I know one of our yearly spring projects was putting up new mailboxes that had been knocked over by the plows. That said, that may not apply in quail hollow if you guys have strange mailbox restrictions out there. I know we would replace them with a standard mailbox, but if it was a fancy one or a subdevelopment that had a required mailbox we did not.

Make sure to at least give them a call and let them know, they might do something. Usually the problem is that the mailbox hangs over the curb. They will plow up to the curb and if the mailbox hangs over the street it will get clipped. Not much they can do about it if you want them to plow all the way to the curb.

In my case they usually don't even hit it. It's the fact that I only get one plow a day and it goes 50 mph and throws all of the accumulated snow at the box that knocks it over. It's no longer even attached to the base, that got destroyed in the first snow this year. I'm not fixing it in the cold, so I just set it back there, knowing that it'll get knocked over every time. I'll fix it right in the spring.
