YOUR #1 SEED FALCONS!

Post by Bleeding Orange »

Wow. Who would have thought we would be here two years ago?

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Darryl Clements, Brian Moten, and Nate Miller! Our seniors have been fantastic this year, and it is their leadership that has brought us to this point.

MAC CHAMPS!!!

That was the best atmosphere in Anderson Arena in years. The crows wasn't what it has been in year's past, but from the opening tip our guys had the intensity dialed up a few notches. We played stifling defense and were hitting our shots early. Before OU realized they were playing a basketball game they were down 20-3.

I wasn't thinking about this immediately after the game, but how great is it for everything to break right for BG for once? To get the 1 seed, we needed Kent to win, and they gutted out a win in a game in which they were trailing going into the final minutes. We needed Buffalo to win, and they took Miami into overtime after trailing for most of the game, and pulled out the win. We needed to beat OU, and I don't they realized the game had started until 10 minutes had gone by in the first half. I'm not used to our men's program winning a championship, but I'm definitely not used to fortune smiling upon us as it did today.

And as I said in the chat, it was great to be able to watch the Miami/UB game knowing that our guys were taking care of business.

I don't suspect that the novelty of all of this will wear off any time soon. :)

Congrats, Flaocns! Looks like the birds have come on at the best possible time- you'll be hard to beat in Cleveland. Hope we get the chance! You probably do, too. :-D
