Reghi

Michael Reghi, who is an absolute treat to listen to, is in the middle of calling his FOURTH game of the day. There's not a player in the Q this week with as much stamina as Reghi!

Great performance by the Falcons tonight. I loved their focus, especially after the emotional high they have endured since winning the regular season title on Sunday.

To be fair, Steve Mix has been with him all day. I find Mix to be pretty informative.

How many times did we have to hear Steve Mix played at the school up north? I must have counted at least 20 times during the BG game alone from Reghi.

I know some people like Reghi...I never cared for his style. Just personal taste, I guess.

BEAT AKRON!!!!!!!!!!

now if that Miami/Akron game went 6 overtimes so those two could have done the same thing as ESPN's guys at the Big East tourney

Why such hate? I love an announcer with personality that doesn't make it about himself. Plus he knows the conference well. Mix is solid, too. Guy knows the game well. If he played at BG he'd be a deity no matter how many times they said he went there on the broadcast.

I've always loved Reghi... he used to call Clinton Venable "The Maestro." I've chatted with him on several occasions and he's not one of those "full of himself" guys.

When I was in college, he called SEVERAL BG games. I ran into him at Franklin Park mall one day and he recognized me as the bass player and made a guitar gesture to me as he walked passed. :-)

And it's his job to make the color guy sound valid. Steve mix doesn't have a lot of personality, so Reg has to make up for that.

I love that he's calling these games! Rise up, Reghi!

I've always liked Reghi, and liked him on the Cavs broadcasts as well. I know that there are those around that have always hated him, but I've never figured out why. I think he does a pretty good job.

This past summer, he called some Reds games while George Grande was out. He is a thousand times better at baseball than basketball. He was actually a treat to listen to doing the Reds, coverage, not in the shower.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I think he played some minor league baseball. I'd have to hit wikipedia, but don't have the time right now. So take it with several grains of salt.

Don't know about playing in the minors, but I think he was the Orioles radio play-by-play guy for a long time.

I have to chime in and say I like Reghi. He is an incredibly hard worker and a very nice guy. He has worked day and night to make a career in broadcasting for himself, and treats the MAC with respect when he does our games. You never get the sense he thinks he is slumming, even though he has worked at the highest levels.

He did play minor league baseball.

And played collegiately at ASU, and the Sun Devils are better than some minor league teams. :-)

Reghi is a freaking legend. Poop on those who don't like him.

Michael Reghi > Fred McLeod. By miles. (That's supposed to be greater than. I hope it is.)

I've grown to appreciate Reghi in this regard. He's done what it's taken to get where he is, does tons of games and seems to enjoy every minute.

When I was doing games at BG, he always seemed like a bit of a cheeseball around some of the media events, but I don't think I ever actually talked with him, so who knows.

Loved last night when he started giving AZZ some love as one of the best fight songs in college sports. :-D
