I saw Pro Stroh buttons on people at the Women's BB game on Saturday. Any one know where I can get one? My son is a freshman at BGSU and will be voting FOR THE STROH CENTER!!!

Man, that "Michelle Osama" is totally bats**t. I can't stand people like her, who simply believe everything that they are told by supposed 'mentors' like Errol Lam, and refuse to process anything resembling reason.

Those were two great, great letters. The first from Mrs. Stroh-Wright was deeply touching, and the second from Mr. Rader was extremely well-reasoned, and I think did a good job of bringing perspective to the pejorative debate at hand.

I could possibly be a student at BG again very soon, and I would be thrilled to contribute a little bit of money to the Stroh Center. I trust that reason will prevail in this situation.

The thing that irritates me most about commenters like that is, if you're going to think you're cute and bash everything posted on a topic, have the stones (or female equivalent) to use your own freaking name.

Those letters to the editor were well-written, well-constructed and well-thought out and some yay-hoo with a cutesy fake name goes and gets off by posting drivel like that. Oppose it if you wish, but sack up and identify yourself.

Great job, authors! Pay no attention to the morons behind the curtain.

Wow. This just says everything that anyone who is up in the air about the Stroh Center needs to know:
Michelle Osama wrote:Academics should take priority when it comes to alumni donations, not academics.
UnFalconbelievable.

I find it laughable that anyone would still consider spouting off about renovating Anderson Arena rather than building a new facility. The University conducted how many feasibility studies over the years? It had to be at least 3-4 just that I remember reading about. The fact is all of them pointed to the same result: it makes far more sense to build a new facility than to try and renovate Anderson Arena.

Look, I love Anderson Arena. It's a great place to watch a basketball game, and I've got tons of memories of the place. I was watching games there when I was 3 and I've been to hundreds, if not thousands, of them. But it's time for the university to move on. My great grandmother could not attend my graduation because the building didn't have facilities to accommodate her. Both of my grandmothers made it to the graduation, but it was not a pleasant experience for them, and the location/quality of the facility is the main reason that neither of them attend basketball games either (both are big fans of collegiate hoops).

Those are just the anecdotal experiences of one family of lifelong Falcon fans. I have to believe that there are many others in a similar boat. Anderson arena makes it very difficult to attend events for anyone that is not the picture of health. It's time to upgrade our arena, and I will choose to put trust in multiple feasibility studies telling us that starting fresh is the better decision than renovating. I happen to agree with them, because a renovation is still not solving the problem of Anderson being in a terribly inconvenient location.

Can I get one of those buttons? I already have a shirt, but I want to complete the ensemble.

Aimee says I don't know the facts. If they print my response, Aimee will understand that I do know my facts about college tuition and a student's pocketbook!

Let's take our own vote here~

If you want to send a letter to the editor to the BG NEWS- you have to provide Name, rank, serial number, next of kin, blood and 1/2 a kidney.
I understand that. They don't want to be responsible for someone falsely using someone else's name and flaming people.

So why- don't they have to give names to give OTHER opinions on the editorial page? Grant knows who everyone is by his magic crystal ball- couldn't someone at the BGNEWS- figure that out?

Yeah- the Michelle Osama thing has me a little ticked. She can vote however she wants, But to defame my parents- one who is no longer here is just crap. She knows what I wrote and can say whatever she wants- good, bad or indifferent. But you can't START a conversation like that---Double standard- BGNEWS?

Hey- I'm the free speech queen here. You can say whatever you want- but you can't escape the consequences of those words.

In this world of technology and instant response-- things may need to be re-thunk! :? In the newsPAPER world, a rebuttal had to be vetted and validated also.

They- BGNEWS- wrote to ask me my relationship to the Stroh's. Really they did. Some time later, they got around to reading the whole letter and it came to them just like that.
