For what it is worth.
I had a chance to listen to part of his show today. He was talking about facilities and how IU's football facilities were below MAC level. He then talked about how when he was at BG, he had the worst facility, and he was one of the main people involved in getting $14 million for the new facility and now he is not there.
He was also talking about Urban Meyer and that if he was offered the football position at IU, when he was at BG, he would not ave left BG for IU.

Who would leave BG Football for Indiana Football? That's barely a lateral move.

It's nice to see/read/hear that radio has humbled Dan and his opinion of himself. It's amazing that in a world that has suffered through such an economic downturn and with so many universities that need financial help with funcraising that the best Dan can do is give his opinion on sports talk radio instead of sharing his bubbly outgoing personality in philanthropic effort helping some poor lowly institution and/or coaching some mediocre team in a beaten down gym.
It's just too bad he had to "settle" for sports talk radio.
Get over yourself already Dan

What a jerk!!!!! I actually feel dirty knowing that his name is linked with BGSU. I used to think he was a nice guy but not the right guy for BG. Now I just think he is a bitter D-bag looking for the next excuse for not being able to sustain any success during his head coaching days.

Not me.

Well, it might be a lateral move except even going from BG to Indiana would probably triple your pay, at a minimum. So in that sense, it would be a step up.

As football coach at Indiana, you could expect to get paid more and lose most every game you play. Is that really how coaches decide to change jobs?
At any rate, Dan Dakich sure can use some colorful language!

They say a punctuation is worth a thousand words. AAF's post is sums up the entire story for me.

Whatever Dan. My opinion of him has really changed over the last couple of years. Why don't we just call the Stroh Center the Dakich Den since he obviously had so much to do with the plan?
Dan...

I don't really see the same things everyone else does. Pretty much everything he said is spot on and I don't remember Dan ever having the ability to sugarcoat anything.
Now, if he said he could see the football stadium from his office window, then I'd call BS.

Dan has been gone for 2+ years. The negotiations with the Stroh family started well before he left and I am sure he was an influence on getting the donation. I'm sure the Stroh family said "You know, I think I'm going to donate a butt load of money to BG and I'm going to do it tomorrow." When giving that much, the wooing is a long process. You don't have to like Dan, but he's right in this instance.

I think a reference to Always A Falcon's post needs to be made here. That is all the information I need to know before I call BS on DD!

If you haven't yet... check out Ryan's article from earlier today on the main page of this site... there's a link to a Dakich "moment" that's... well, it's really pretty pathetic to be honest...

I just listened to it. The gloat in his voice was a tad difficult to stomach. I was a Dakich defender.
No more. He just extinguished whatever respect I had for him. Personally, I thought that blog entry was good entertainment.
