Stroh Center Questions

Post by MacGuy »

Will there be a weight room in the building?

When you come in from the ground level, will you walk down to your seats or do you take stairs up to another level and then walk down to your seat? Hope that makes sense. Essentially I'm asking if the seating is below ground.

I don't think there will be a weight room and I would expect the building floor plan to be very similar to AA as far as entering and proceeding to your seats.

Here was the originally announced plan for amenities:
The Stroh Center will serve as home to the women's volleyball and men's and women's basketball programs. Depending on funds and design, a practice court for the teams may also be included. The facility will have locker rooms and meeting rooms for each of the three teams, an office suite that houses all three programs and coaching staffs, the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame, a merchandise store, an athletic ticket office, a media / press area, and a hospitality lounge. Gymnastics and student-athlete support services will move to Anderson Arena.

I think you walk up stairs to the concourse level, then walk down to your seats. I don't think there will be a weight room, but there will be a practice gym, and team lounge.

This link has the floor plans for the two levels...

Anyone know if all the seats will be chair backs? My guess is the Anderson Club section will be padded seats.. and the rest of the arena will have non padded chair backs. Maybe the student section won't have chair backs.

I found this really neat site for the University of Oregon's new arena where they compare the old to the new... It'd be cool if BG could make something similar for the Stroh.

I've got $50 bucks that says there aren't all those banners of Marc Larson posting someone up hanging in the Stroh Center when it's done!

Yeah- you guys have it right. You enter- there is the Hall of Fame and the ARchives displays and then you go up to come down to your seats.
