Thought it may have been about Calhoun but he is not a center. How about someone writing an article on why he isn't playing? What a brilliant idea! Maybe this article would tell us why he was in street clothes the other night against Buffalo. Do reporters after the game just not ask these types of questions? Why wouldn't someone ask why Calhoun is not playing or in street clothes?

I really planned for it to turn out this way-I was certain that what would appear to be an inoccuous post about a BG staffer who worked hard behind the scenes would prove to be controversy fodder for CJ and start a predictable litany of complaints about the BG coaching staff. Looks like my work here is done.

I agree. I listen to the press conferences with Orr every time they are posted online and you hear basically the same generic questions asked week after week by most of the media and you get the same recycled response by Orr about how, “We gotta persevere….we gotta compete…we’re persevering….we’re competing….we need to persevere.” Did I mention he says we have to persevere or that we are persevering??? LOL! Definitely one of Orr’s favorite words!cowboyjoe wrote:Thought it may have been about Calhoun but he is not a center. How about someone writing an article on why he isn't playing? One reporter who I feel does ask the questions some of us on this board want to hear raised is the Sentinel Tribune’s Jack Carle. But it seems to me he does it more often in football than he has in basketball. It seems like when you listen in, many of the questions asked by most reporters you already know the answer to. Asking Orr about Scott Thomas’ performance after he scores a career-high 27 points tells you little more than you already know before asking it. One look at the box score shows you he played a helluva game (27 points, 7 boards, 2 assist & just 1 turnover). It’s wondering why a guy such as A’uston Calhoun isn’t playing that’s intriguing IMO. In the preseason Orr said, “Pound for pound, A’uston could be the most talented guy on the team. There’s really not much he can not do. He’s our best traffic rebounder, especially on the defensive boards. He can really face the basket and shoot the three and he can be a really good post scorer. He’s super athletic. He’s a big, strong young man. He’s still trying to figure it out, but he’s got a chance to be a really, really good player.”
Then why after 15 games has he played a total of six minutes in two contests? Especially since, if I remember correctly, Carle asked him specifically about Calhoun several weeks ago and Orr said he was practicing very hard and had a great week of practice. It’s very puzzling and curious as to why he's just not seeing the floor.

See thread about him being academically ineligible.
