Mystery solved.
When a player struggles at the study table, it's not a secret to the coaching staff. Might be the reason he didn't get much playing time.

The Blade article wasn't the perfect press release because it didn't mention venerable ONCE
It was rather stupid, because "talented redshirt freshman" with 4 points in 6 minutes is retarded. My guess, alas from experience, is an "I" that got turned into an "F".

Re: Calhoun ineligible
This isn't much of a surprise, really. Clearly he was either struggling academically or in practice, no other reason he wouldn't garner playing time. When I noticed he was in street clothes with the start of the new semester I had a pretty good idea what his issue was.
He was one of those gambles you take on a recruit from the get go. A talented kid that you hope will get things in order in the classroom and you may pluck a star, it's how we got McLeod. Unfortunately for every McLeod there are a few Harwells & Calhouns.
I wish him the best going forward, it's unfortunate he couldn't get the grades in order to be a member of this team. From all accounts he had all the physical talent.

I think you should change your avatar to Calhoun until such time as the NEXT ineligible guy comes along, then go with him.
