Per the plain dealer BG gets Valparaiso in the Bracket Buster game.

That's a bad draw for BG. Valpo is better than their record indicates. They could beat BG expecially with our recent player issues. All in all, this draw sucks for both teams.

could you elaborate some on it being a bad draw for both sides? i'm a little curious. either way, i'm looking forward to an entertaining game.

might even make the drive if i can free up the time.

It's a bad draw for BG because of timing. We are having some player issues right now and I don't see it getting much better in the near future (before February 20). BG just seems all over the map right now in terms of level of play. Valpo is not a sure win.
Having seen Valpo a few times this season, they have trouble closing out games. However they are starting to turn that around (5 wins in the last 6 games I think). But they are not consistent either.
I think it's a terrible draw for both teams because a win does not help you at all. On the flip side, neither team is getting much attention so a loss doesn't hurt either. It's a wash.
I recommend getting to BG if you can. My wife, who works at VU and I both attended BG. Anderson arena is, in my very biased opinion, one of the great old school arenas in the country. It was not build to be a basketball palace. It's a gym plain and simple. When it's half full it's loud. When it's full, it's as tough of a place to play as any other in the country. It is similar to the ARC. I hope you make the trip and enjoy yourself.

Valpo beat Toledo 81-49 (although who doesn't). We both played Toledo at home? Any questions about Valpo?

Player problems? One player who didn't play is gone because of grades. Another who played "a little" is suspended for a little wacky weed. Now, if Dee Brown, for example, was one of the players, yes, I'd say we have a player problem. But that is not the case. Losing a player who scores 2pts a game is not that big of a loss. Long term effect, maybe, but for a game in two weeks, not really.

i was really hoping to be able to make it out on saturday, but alas, life has thrown a few wrenches in the way. i'm hoping to watch it online if possible. that said, i'm looking forward to an exciting game-our bracketbuster opponents from the mac in recent years have helped float me along on that. hopefully the mac-horizon fun can continue.
