Warren Scholler, who followed Harold Anderson as BGSU men's basketball coach, has died.
He was 89. Dunn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Here's my BG memory of "Porky" Scholler. That was his nickname, but I had him for Health. He was no longer head coach at the time but still involved with the program and school. The class was loaded with athletes. We had papers assigned every other week. I wrote my first paper, researched it, and to my surprise I got a B with no real feedback. I had expected an A since I covered the entire assignment and had a good bibliography. I soon found out Porky liked you to have graphs and other displays. So the next time, I wrote the paper in the same manner and threw in a graph that really wasn't that important to the paper and received an A. From that time on, all may papers for Health class had graphs. RIP
