The Stroh - ?
I'm no engineer or builder, but it seems like the Stroh could be good to go by November - December? I'm no conspiracy theorist, but is there any possiblity that we'll see a game there this year?

Re: The Stroh - ?
No possibility of taking the last opportunity for fans to see their last game at AA to open the Stroh early. I imagine that every single women's and men's game will have at least one person in town to attend their last game in the House that Roared.
Maybe another event such as the HS regionals to test it out but not our Falcons. Finish work takes longer than the most people realize.....

I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Not a chance. Won't be complete until the end of the academic year, and then need time to move, prep, etc.

No chance for this season. Work will not be done until the end of the academic year, then will use the summer for the move and the shake down of the building.

Remember, you also have construction work that goes on INSIDE of the building as well.ZuluWarrior wrote:I'm no engineer or builder, but it seems like the Stroh could be good to go by November - December? I'm no conspiracy theorist, but is there any possiblity that we'll see a game there this year?

Re: The Stroh - ?
Construction IS ahead of schedule and under budget so I wouldn't be too surprised to see construction done fully by spring.
Now the Ice Arena on the other hand...

The building will not be complete until the end of the academic year at the earliest. It will then require a fair amount of tune up and move in. There will not be any activities in the spring.
The Ice Arena - that continues on schedule with the contract completion dates. They have taken steps to get the AC in place to keep the ice on schedule, while the rest of the facility lags a little behind, but on schedule.

The last I heard was that the Stroh would be finished sometime in the spring. This came from someone who is really close to the project. The University wants to have ample time to make sure everything works inside and outside the Stroh. Remember you have to get an occupancy permit before anything can happen on a large scale. Will the coaches be able to move into their new offices in the late spring? Possibly, but no event will occur until the keys have been handed to the Athletic Department.

No one moves in (or occupies it any way) until the keys are handed over!falconwomenbball wrote:Will the coaches be able to move into their new offices in the late spring? Possibly, but no event will occur until the keys have been handed to the Athletic Department.
My daughter was REALLY hoping it'd be open by the end of this May so that she could graduate (from BGHS) in there instead of (in her words) "in hot Anderson Arena." I told her, don't hold your breath honey. Not gonna happen!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Tell her she could wish to go back to the days of grauation being held in the BGSU ballroom. Not many High Schools get to us a university like BGHS does. Kids are becoming Spoiled Brats these days. Falcon Fanatic, not talking about your daughter just kids in general.Falcon Fanatic wrote:No one moves in (or occupies it any way) until the keys are handed over!falconwomenbball wrote:Will the coaches be able to move into their new offices in the late spring? Lordy, I'm not as young anymore. Your kids, Buddy's kids. Seeing those little ones go from my kids age to graduating.......reminds me how fast my own will/are growing.Falcon Fanatic wrote:My daughter was REALLY hoping it'd be open by the end of this May so that she could graduate (from BGHS) in there instead of (in her words) "in hot Anderson Arena."
I'm going to go be sad now.
