BG/Bluffton Predictions

Post by BGSU33 »

Well, I feel pretty confident about this one. :) I actually don't mind this game for two reasons. One, it's a nice way to stay in the grove before heading to Youngstown State this weekend, and two, it's our only non D-I game this season. I'd rather have none, but one is better than two or three.

Obviously, we should win, and should win big against a D-III school. But we still need to focus on the game. Before anyone makes a remark about how there's no way we could lose a game like this, let me remind you, BG has lost games like this not too long ago, such as when Findlay beat BG in 1991 and 1987 and also to Defiance in 1985 - all of them at BG!!! :o It can happen. I hope we get out ahead big, get everyone into the game for extended minutes, and get some quality experience and game-time for our next game at Youngstown State. We're playing well and let's keep it going.

Bluffton is lead by a Woodmore grad. Let's hope there aren't too many Otsego loyalists in the crowd!!

This one won't be close....

I'm with Grant, this will be a big difference in the score.

There is no way that we are going to lose this game. I have the feeling that we will score 100 points and 3 players scoring 20 points or more.

I don't see this one being close. We have the size advantage with their biggest player being 6'6".

We're going to have a very VERY difficult time winning this one.

Oh wait...sorry, I'm still in Bluffton mode.

BG grad Guy Neal has a decent squad going this year -- but they are incredibly small. Eric Sweet (at 6'6") is the tallest player and probably has the most weapons. Point guard Simeon Talley has some nice moves. Senior captain and backup guard Nathan Chivington is tough and provides good leadership. These guys are seriously pumped and surprisingly optimistic going in -- it was their call whether or not they played BG this year. Good players, good guys...no thugs here...just not D-1 talent.

Unfortunately for the Beavers, BG will run circles around them. Then the Falcons will run between, through, and above them for good measure.

And for the record, it's officially Bluffton University. They made the switch August 1 of this year.

BG - 92
Bluffton - 53

Game highlight: Dance team performs for first time. Crowd is amazed that this soon after Thanksgiving and during the holiday season, all dancers fit into their outfits. Dance team rollicks to a routine set to the sounds of U2's "Vertigo" because they think it is cool to dance to a jingle.
