The FALCON has landed

Just drove past the Stroh Center and the Falcon has arrived. It was hooked up with chains around its neck preparing for its perching later today. It looks very nice but actually not as large as I imagined.

I love the falcon but not particularly impressed with the base it is on. I know they are suppose to cover the concrete with bronze but the base still looks odd to me. Also don't you think they would have covered/sprayed the base with bronze before the installed the bird?

I was just saying that you would think they would finish the post before installing the bird. It is like how my fiancé painted the trim in our house first and then painted the walls and guess what? Paint from the walls got on the trim so she had to paint it again. With inclement weather coming I would just think they would have finished the base first. Just my opinion.

It's not like they can just call flipper and have him throw the thing up there. It was a major deal requiring a huge crane. Did you ever think that possibly they needed to get it done now? That maybe they needed to get the heavy crane out of the way so they could continue with landscaping, etc.?

When mounting an object of this size you will invariably have scratches, scraps and other unsightly marks that will need to be smoothed out. That's why everything must be in place before you begin finish work. I would assume this would have been the plan and would suggest that we did hire PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTORS to complete the project........and if anyone has a problem with it they could have bid the project.

Where is Bob the Builder with his professional opinion when needed?

A very brief video/slideshow of the Falcon statue installation. Nothing spectacular, just another perspective.
