BG - Kent thread

Less than one hour until game time. Hope the cold and blustery weather keeps Kent on its cold streak. BG has the most wins at Kent of any MAC school the past 10 years. Time for another W.

BG struggling early. Down 21-11 as they have just as many turnovers (11) as they do points.

This game is getting uglier by the minute. BG doubled up trailing 50 to 25. And it feels much worse

BG loses to Kent State 80-63. BG played much better after they put in Krause and Crawford. I see JoJak playing time being cut. He was somewhere in the neighborhood of a Minus 25 while he was on the floor running the offense. Calhoun had a very nice consistent game

Went to the game with Freakling2. We turned the ball over waaaaaaay too much in the first half and Kent shot 57% to our 34% for the first half. Kent scored way too many easy lay ups as well.

BG fought back to within 10 but could get no closer. Dang.

GO BG!

Made the snowy trip down to Kent tonight and watched some bad basketball. The “Bad Falcons” showed up tonight. You know the ones…uninspired, unmotivated, can’t shoot, prone to turnovers, can’t play defense…yeah, that one. I am sorry but I don’t think you can use the youth excuse entirely on all our problems.

That was also one of the weakest Kent State teams I’ve seen in the last ten years. Again, the level of the talent in the MAC right now is shocking low.

Yeah, Miami and Kent are both way, way down. OU is seemingly not what they were going to be and Central is maybe the biggest disappointment with the talent they brought in.

Hopefully with the Stroh Center and the players coming in BG can take advantage of this. Because the MAC isn't going to stay this bad forever.....right?

I was there as well and share your opinion. I don't know why BG even bothered getting off the bus.

JoeJak looks like a shell of the player he used to be. I'm wondering if he just riding it out.

You know, I was somewhat impressed with Kent. They run a great half court offense with lots cutting and moving off the ball. Their guards are strong and steady. Their post players Manns and Greene are fast, long, and strong. They slapped our post guys around. (On that note, Cameron Black to far to soft to be effective in the post.)

I was impressed with Black as a raw freshman. I think he is already years ahead of Otis as far as basketball acumen. I wish we had the luxury of redshirting him so he could get a year stronger.
