BG did have one "quality" non conference win this year: Texas-San Antonio back on Dec. 30th.

You've probably seen that UTSA made the "first four" NCAA tourney play in game tonight. Their reward for winning today? Playing the Buckeyes later this week.
UTSA went on a nice end of year run and won the Southland Conference Tournament for the automatic bid.

I went to the BG v UTSA game and did think they had a nice team. Their roster seemed to be very similar to ours with many athletic players and not much bulk.
That game seems so far away now, back when BG was clicking and playing well for a stretch.

Oh well... still waiting for our Falcons to make the dance.

Looking back at our season, I would say our win over Saint Louis on the road (right after the UTSA win) gave us a spark that saw us also win at Buffalo before eventually coming home and beating both Miami and Ohio. Minus the Kent State loss in that span, we were playing some of our best basketball of the season around then. The win over Ohio in particular almost had flashes of the 1997 BG team with all that dunks we had in that game. But after our loss at CMU, we really went into a downward tailspin until the last two games in Anderson Arena.

1 OOC win with a team with a winning record (and they had an RPI of 174 or something horrible like that)...wake up people, or at least Greg Christopher!!
