Anyone know if they will be doing any Stroh Center tours?

Post by BGSU33 »

Does anyone know if they will be doing any sort of Stroh Center tours to show people around once things are all finished up? Something along the lines of the arena area and practice court but also of the locker rooms, training room, coaches offices, etc. I think it would be a cool idea aside from just being able to walk into the main arena portion on your own.

Season ticket holders will be offered opportunities to view the facility so they can select their seats.

I am sure they will do something after that for the public.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

That's what I was wondering, like an open house, for anyone interested. We closed the doors on Anderson Arena, it would be very nice to have them opened for a look around in the Stroh Center.

We got a mini-tour last Friday for season tix picks. The chocolate brown carpet was still in rolls and the hoops aren't on the practice court yet. I saw the Volleball and visitors locker rooms (there are 4 visitors so the 3 BG rooms are dedicated to BG only) and they were starting to paint the interior walls (orange, of course).

I took a few pictures but they're in my other camera. Maybe I'll really try to post them.

Anyone interested could get a tour of Savage at just about any point in the refurbishing process- can't believe BG isn't doing the same. Call the marketing people and tell them you'd like to see the building and are considering season tix. You'll get a sales pitch along with the tour but unless they're really out of touch they'll be happy to take you through- we had to wear hard hats, though!

Also, the summer bash should be in the parking lot of the Stroh Center this year.

They are cleaning up the lot, taking down the screens, and seem about ready to start taking some fences down at some point. The first concert is in August. The place really improves the feel of the area. Pretty much jams BGSU sports in your face as you come off of I-75, looks great at night. Truly helps improve the front door to the city and University.

Does anyone know if that is the base we are using for the falcon statue by the arena? I thought I heard they were doing something more to the base. Also, are there going to be any bricks or anything around the statue area as well, perhaps the ones people purchased?

The summer bash is a gathering that Falcon Club started last year. It is an outdoor party. There was a band, good food and drink. It was the end of June (I think). It was open to both Falcon Club members and nonmembers alike. It was at the parking lot at the Sebo last year, but Greg Christopher said it would be in the parking lot at the Stroh in 2011. Information for the summer bash should be coming out soon.

As to the bricks people bought. It is my understanding that Falcon Plaza is where they will be. I think it is the area around the falcon statue. They were supposed to be in the front door area of the Stroh.
