bgsufalcons.com just updated the basketball roster to include the newcomers.

One of the knocks on Rorie in high school was his weight. However, he listed at 223 lbs, which is adequate for the style of post play he'll bring to D1. Good news there - maybe he'll contribute this year.

As I surveyed the entire roster, Sealey is the guy who jumps out as a candidate for a very large increase in playing time this year.

Sealey absolutely MUST play more this year. He's too athletic and too talented of a scorer to leave on the bench. He's one of the few players on this roster that can score point in bursts.

For a team that has struggled to generate offense so much I don't know why we left him on the bench so much last year...hopefully that will change this season.

The fact that he was injured probably played a great deal as to why he spent so much time on the bench. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Well this is the first I've ever heard anything saying Sealey was injured, but you would no more than I do. I know that when he was on the floor he looked pretty damn good at times...and then would seemingly go another 3 games in a row without seeing the court...it was strange. Injury would explain it, I suppose, but I don't think we ever heard anything about it.

I'm pretty sure it was Sealy that was injured a good part, BUT it may have been Cameron Black. I remember one of the freshmen was injured a good part of the year. I may have jumped the gun on that one.

But Cameron started like the first 17 games.

I'm pretty sure it was Craig that was the injured party.

I believe it was Black who was injured for so long. Yes, he started at the beginning of the season, but I believe he was noticeably injured (and started wearing a knee wrap/brace) partially in. I don't think they ever said anything about the injury at the time, but I know we discussed it here (and in the stands). I do believe that they eventually did say something about him playing hurt for awhile.

I don't remember any mention of Sealey being hurt.

A story in the Sentinel-Tribune on July 6 mentioned that C. Black is recovering from a stress fracture suffered after the season. Regarding Sealey, Orr had this quote, "We have to get Craig more minutes. He's too talented and too good of an athlete (to sit)."

So it looks like hammb will get his wish.

I think some of Black's issues were caused by his rapid growth....growing pains, if you will. Desmond Rorie sounds like the name of a reggae singer....Desmond Rorie and the Itals? Desmond Rorie and the Wailers?

Desmond Rorie and the Upsetters...that sounds like a team with a deep tournament run in them. (named after Max Romeo and the Upsetters)
