You know this might not be hyperbole if its part of ESPN's yearly "24 hour hoops marathon" or whatever it's called. Kent State held a game in that last year and it was at 8am. I think Hawaii had the coveted 4am timeslot, New Mexico State had 2am...

5am might be a bit of a gimmick, but this program needs something interesting besides a new arena to draw student and locals interest.

This is one "gimmick" I would have no issues with, once ESPN started this event a few years back I kept saying I would love it if we were on during one of those early morning games, much better then weeknight college football games. 24 you are right Hawaii gets that 4am slot every season since its works for them with the time difference, so the earliest we would appear is 6am, unless we were playing out west for a midnight or 2am game, which also brings up another point, while it may end up being a gimmack game like that, we don't know if it'll be a home or road game

I was just in Athens, Georgia a few months ago. They just went through a renovation of the basketball arena at UGA too. Athens is a beautiful place and great college town scene. Loved it.
