SCORING 1000 PT CLUB
Scott Thomas has 868 pts in his career and needs just 132 to reach 1000 if he got the 357 he got last year that would be 1225 and 24th all time.
Dee Brown has 718 pts in his career and needs just 282 to reach 1000.
Calhoun has 418 career pts and 414 came from just last year.

Both the top 2 are easily reachable. Not sure if we have had a year before where 2 guys reach 1000 pts in the same year. 37 people have done it before so my guess is it has but its interesting all the same. If Calhoun has just a slightly better year then last year we could see 3 guys reach 1000 this year.

REBOUNDS
Thomas has 471 career rebounds and needs 130 to move to 14th overall. If he got the 214 that he got last year that would put him at 9th all time.

STEALS
Thomas is 10th all time in steals. If he gets his last year number of 61 he will rise to 4th all time.

ASSISTS
(Joe Jack ended his career 5th all time in assists.)
Thomas also has 216 career assists and I think he needs to be at 284 to be in the top ten. Last year he had 111. That would put him at 327 and 7th all time.

A conservative number puts Thomas at
Scoring 24th all time
Steals 4th all time
Rebounds 9th all time
Assists 7th all time
Thats pretty amazing for a career

You know what is most amazing about those numbers to me? At no time did I ever think Thomas was a great player...maybe not even ever the best player on his teams at BG.

He's a very well rounded solid contributor who you know will play smart basketball and can give you a lot of minutes. He's not especially great at anything, but he can do a little bit of it all.

When this season finishes he will end up having a pretty great career. Let's hope with some of the youth we've put around him it can end on a high note :)

It is really interesting because 20 years from now someone may look back and say, look at these numbers this guy must have been one of the best ever, when I agree with you, he is basically an incredibly fundamentally sound guy with no weaknesses and not any absurd strength. I could see him starting for any team in the country, literally any team, because he makes every player around him better by being in the right place etc. etc. One of my favorites all time at BG for sure.

I like Thomas because he goes "all out" all the time. The kind of guy who makes the coach's job easier and who teamates love. He has earned each and every one of those numbers and every piece of praise coming his way.

Good question. Thomas is 92-310 for 29.6% in three years with one to play. Esterkamp was 98 for 285 for 34.4% in 4 years.

I hate Esterkamp. I remember one night the Rockets led by 15-18 at half and Esterkamp made about 6 second half threes (as I recall it) and BG won. Then I had to drive home in a Level 3 snow emergency.

More interesting stuff.

1. Black is on pace for 42 blocks this season. That would be the 5th highest number since they have been counting. He had 18 last year and already has 14.
2. Thomas is on pace for 60 steals 10th most ever in one season (Was 5th last year with 65)
3. Thomas had 471 rbs coming in, has 528 now...needs to get to 600 to crack the top 14 and is on pace for 171 rebounds this year which would put him at 642 and 11th all time
4. Thomas was 10th all time in steals with 126. He currently has 20 putting him 9th all time. He is on pace for 60 this year which would put him at 4th all time.
5. Thomas pts projection is 1201 Which would be good enough for 25th all time
6. Thomas is currently at 247 career assists. He projects to 309 or 8th all time.

With Thomas his minutes have been down and I think they tend to go up in MAC play. More minutes will equal more stats.

Thomas cracked into the 1000 pt club last night. Is now at 1018 needs 19 to pass Stanley Weber and Jim Connally to move into 35th. I am going to track this as we head forward. Might be a blast from the past for you guys who have been around awhile. Please ignore if you don't like this stuff or just me in general.

Looks like Dee Brown is at 822 and needs to average about 10 a game to reach the 1000 pt mark.

I just realized that the notes before the games do this, sorry if it has been redundant, I will probably keep doing it just for fun but there is great stuff in those notes.

Scoring
Thomas moved into 35th all time with 1044 career points. Needs 12 points to get to 34th (Bill Faine). 18th for 33rd. He is on pace to get 352 for the season, 1220 for a career. That would put him at 24th.

Brown is at 850 now and on pace for 982. Hope he finds a way to get that extra pt a game or so to get him over the milestone.

Calhoun is at 607 right now and on pace for 796 for a career with another season to go. He is on pace to finish his career at 1174, currently 25th all time but likely 26th with Thomas climbing the ranks.

Crawford is at 523 and is on pace to finish at 676 this year. He is on pace to finish his career at 982.

*I am amazed that this team has 4 legitimate potential 1000 pt scorers (Not counting any of the freshman or sophomores who could be studs) on it and scoring tends to be a problem for us. Maybe this is more common then I am thinking.

Steals
Thomas is currently 7th all time in steals. Wth 3 more he passes Rosie Barnes into 6th all time. With 5 more he passes Antonio Daniels to 5th. He is on pace to finish with 190 for a career which would be 4th all time. He needs 193 for 3rd (DeMAr Moore) and 201 for 2nd (David Jenkins). Anthony Stacey is the all time leader with 226. He is on pace for 64 steals this season which would be the 6th most in a season ever. Last year he had 65.

Crawford has 103 currently and is on pace to finish his career at 175 or 6th all time.

Assists
Thomas currently has 264. He is on pace to pass Micheal Huger, Jeff Montgomery(10-283), DeMar Moore(9-289) and Keith McLeod (8-306) and finish with 312.

Crawford currently has 239. He is on pace to finish the year with 297 and 10th all time, Should Thomas reach his expected number. Crawford is on Pace to finish his career with 413 career assists placing him 4th all time behind Pardon, Daniels and Greer.

Rebounds
Thomas currently has 566 and is on pace to get to 661. That number would be 10th all time passing Joe Moore at 651.

Blocks
Cam Black is on pace for 42 blocks this year which would be the 5th most ever in one season. If he continued that pace for the rest of his career he would finish with 144 career blocks behind only Otis Polks 159.

Scott Thomas is
On pace for 24th all time scoring
On pace for 4th all time steals
On pace for 8th all time assists
On pace for 10th all time rebounds

On paper we have potentially one of the best shot blockers in our teams history, 4 solid scorers, An incredible utility guy and a solid pg.
