Stopping GW's Tony Taylor

Tony Taylor is the key player to stop to beat GW. He's an All-A-10 pick and is averaging 18 ppg and has shot 10-16 from three this year. Taylor scored 22 vs Detroit and 11 vs Austin Peay in their wins. He also scored 20 points vs Cal and another 20 points vs UMES is the opener.

Looking pretty decent so far. I really like how well our guards rebound defensively. Also I can't say enough about Sealy. We are losing Thomas-Brown and Oglesby and although I like all three I could see who might start at SG and PF/C but was worried about SF. I think its the least of my worries now. He is one of our best 5 players.

GW fell behind early but has really outplayed us since. BG now down by 8 under 4:00 to go.

Black just looks lost on offense tonight....and his feed into the post was right to a GW guy.

Thomas carrying us on offense so far, nice run to regain the lead, but GW scored to go up on top at the half by one. Thomas is going to need some help here in the second period. GW was 5-6 from three in the first half.

GW comes out of half on fire, going on an 8-0 run hitting yet two more threes. We looked asleep to start the second half.

GW is killing BG from three, they are now 10-11 from three....that's not a typo.

GW is up 71-47....this was a one-point game at halftime! They are ripping us apart in the second period.

BG goes down 77-56. The Falcons were outscored 44-22 in the second half and BG was crushed on its own floor. It was men vs boys in the second half tonight. GW shot 62% from the field and 11-17 from three while BG shot just 38% including 5-17 from three. Hats off to GW, they looked like the better team in the first period and proved it without a doubt in the second. BG had better put this one behind them and get ready quickly as Temple, a team just outside of the Top-25, is coming in on Sunday.

I love listening to the banter in between.

Missed most of the second half. Obviously it was not pretty. What do you think we have with Clark and Orr and Henderson? Probably can't really tell but just wondered what they looked like.

Why is Oglesby barely playing? 16 minutes for Calhoun?

My guess is they are redshirting Rorie.

Pretty obvious why Calhoun was pulled a couple of times, after he got "lazy" getting back on D and his man scored. Coach Orr pulled him right after on two occasions that I can remember. He seems to just lose concentration sometimes, especially after something happens at the opposite end.
Clark looked pretty good tonight for a short spurt, but is still learning when to shoot and not to shoot in Coach Orr's system. Chauncy looks very comfortable on the floor and seems to fit right in better than most of the newcomers. Henderson was pretty much invisible in his short time tonight.

Curious what defensive scheme we played during GWs assualt of threes, man or zone?

On another note: high intensity effort from #15 has got to be a given or we will have similar results against top tier MAC teams. It takes zero athletic talent to bring effort, so I don't get what the problem is....
