Ohio is off to a tremendous 9-1 start, having won six in a row including four in a row on the road. Man it must be nice to be good in both football and basketball.....Anyway, OU has a big one at 10-1 Northern Iowa tonight in a very nice "mid-major" matchup. I wish this was on TV. I know there's been a lot of talk in the last ten years about MAC basketball being down from what it was, but I think this year - at least in the MAC East - it's as strong as it has been in the last decade since then. With Ohio, Kent State, Buffalo and Akron (and you know Miami will factor in), I just don't see us up there with some of these guys again. We'll find out in a few weeks.

Ohio stomped Northern Iowa on the road! OU had as much as a 22-point lead before winning by 17. This was a UNI team that was undefeated at home, already had wins vs Iowa and Iowa State, and was #2 in the RPI. Ohio plays three consecutive home games before coming to BG and should very well be 13-1 and could be near a Top-25 ranking (was receiving votes to start the week before this game tonight). Wow is Ohio hot right now!

Watching OU this season is like watching the old days of Geno Ford and Gary Trent. This team is good.

Can you say "that 5 seed is sweating bullets, praying OU doesn't get the 12 seed?"

If OU keep this up during MAC play they could be that 5 seed

As much as I would like to believe that they would be worthy of and get a #5 seed, when was the last time a one-bid conference was seeded higher than 8 other than the perenially great Gonzaga teams? And there may have even been other teams from their conference in the tourney.

I believe Drake was a 5 seed a few years back...although the Missouri Valley Conference probably got more than one bid that year.

A MAC team would need to go almost undefeated to even cause the field committee to considered them at no. 5 seed.

Ohio is now just two spots out if the AP Top-25 this week. It's been a long time since I have said this for a MAC team but at 12-1, Ohio is in position right now to be playing for a possible at-large bid this year.

I see they lost to Robert Morris tonight at home.

Trap game. They were obviously looking ahead to their next opponent

Amazingly, Robert Morris had 31 turnovers and won! But they held Ohio to just 3-26 from three as OU likes to put it up. Still, Ohio will be coming in at 12-2 and we're going to have to end this slump we're on right now.
