The MAC West swing will be successful if...

BG opens its annual stint of 6 consecutive games against MAC west foes. We play CMU, NIU and that awful institution up north at the Stroh, and play EMU, WMU & BSU on the road. Personally, I think 4-2 has to be at least expected from this group, but I personally believe it will only be a success if we go 5-1 or 6-0. The way the MAC tourney is set up this year, it is IMPERATIVE to get one of the top 4 seeds (bye til thursday/friday), and going 5-1 or 6-0 against the MAC west is really the only way to put ourselves in a realistic position to attain one of those.
What do you all think needs to happen to make this 6-game stint successful?

5-1 at minimum will be necessary considering we still have road games at Buffalo, Akron and OU. How about we start by just wiping the floor with some team. Would the freshman get minutes if we were up 20 on someone. Orr's press conference this week was bizarre. Talking about Erger giving the team good minutes off the bench, yet Clarke and Henderson don't see the court in the most random of games. I see freshman making contributions all over the conference, yet James Erger is a solid vet in which you pretty much know your not getting much. What am I missing? Orr talks about Scott Thomas having to earn his minutes. Thomas was a solid bench player as a freshman. Played every game and scored double digits on multiple occasions. Sophomore year he started every game. Call me confused.

Success is relative the goal, which is to get a top four seed to the MAC tournament that we won't win. To get a top four seed, 6-0 is the only result that's successful. It won't happen. We'll lose at Ball State. And, as usual, Western Michigan will kick the snot out of us in Kalamazoo. I wouldn't be surprised if the dildoes sneak one out against us at the Stroh. Cheers.

While Brown shoots 35%, sucks on D, and vanishes late in games; while Thomas has another splendid junior year; while Austin Calhoun shows up groggy for home games and often misses rim from inside the key; while our only consistent rebounder (TO) plays random minutes; while our starting 5-6 point guard attempts to dunk over centers and may have 10 turnovers or assists; .....Clarke and Sealey continue to rot on the bench. Gosh, we certainly wouldn't want to risk playing time on THOSE guys. We're right on track for another solid with a .400+ season!
Well, it's nice to see we can beat a VERY bad team on our home court. That is not nothing.

Central is really bad. Anyone notice the offense for defense substitution pattern with Brown and Erger last night up by 18 with 4:30 to go? Haha. James Erger was the the defensive sub. He must be the one of the best backline 2/3 zone defenders in the conference. Just keep the clock moving and get the game over. BG had to try to not beat Central by 25 as poorly as they played last night.
