Seating Policy for Stroh Center Doubleheader (4-FEB-12)

Post by transfer2BGSU »

Seating Policy for Stroh Center Women’s (2pm) and Men’s (6pm) Basketball Doubleheaders (2/4/12):

• One ticket is good for both games as we will not be clearing the arena following the Women’s Basketball game. A Women’s Basketball game ticket is good for admission to the Men’s Basketball game and vice versa.

• Those with tickets to the Women’s Basketball game will sit in their specifically assigned seat during the Women’s Basketball game. For the Men’s Basketball game, that ticket will grant them access to seating anywhere in Sections 107 through 111 in Rows J through U only. East end of the arena, above the railing.

• Those with tickets to the Men’s Basketball game will be granted access to seating anywhere in Sections 107 through 111 in Rows J through U - east end of the arena, above the railing, only for the Women’s Basketball game. At the conclusion of the Women’s Basketball game, they will be able to move to their assigned seat that is started on their Men’s Basketball game ticket for the Men’s game.

I guarentee this will generate mass confusion amongst the locals....

Will Homeland Security have to check each ticket holder twice?

Seems pretty simple to me. Show up at the usual 10-15 mins before tip of men's game and be assured you don't see any women's basketball. Hopefully they don't go to quintuple OT or something that would cause me to catch the end of the game.

Well Hammb, considering the women's game is at 2pm, even with 4 OTs you will be safe. That's only an extra 20 min of extra time, or about 45 min real time. If you show up at 5:45 you will be safe, but if the women's game were to go 9 OT sessions then you may have an issue. At least if you watch the women you may see a WIN. And as much as you dislike women's basketball, watching our women is much more exciting than watching our men's team at times. Heck, watching paint dry is less painful that Crawford and Co.

As luck would have it I spent my entire day Saturday, and a good chunk of Sunday painting in my living room. I think watching that paint dry was definitely more fun than watching women's basketball. I still think I put it behind our men's team though.

Nothing like a sweet fundamental bounce pass to a cutting player and then she does a perfect jump stop for the flat footed layup

Globe, nothing like SEVEN straight divisional MAC titles. How many MAC titles have the men won in the past 20 years. How many MAC championships have the men won in the past 20 years. Sure you don't have ally oops, but which program is producing champions. Which program is drawing better in attendance. I am a supporter of both programs but only one is constantly putting out a winning product.

And at the end of the day all that winning just doesn't matter, because some people just don't like women's basketball, and nothing is going to change that, so once again this is a useless debate/argument because some people will just never be fans women's basketball, and results have nothing to do with it, they just don't like the sport, just like other people don't like soccer or hockey or any other sport you can think of.

I prefer watching the men play because I love to see how and why Erger gets into the game? It's rather entertaining.

I am just messing around. I wish that we would hire Curt Miller to coach the dudes.

Back to the real issue here - what if I picked row J as my seat because it is a great row with the stagger with extra rise between the permanent seats and the retractable seats giving the best sightlines of any row in the arena? :P

I guess I'll have to stake my claim early and if this increases the crowd for both I'll be as happy as anyone with an afternoon of great BG basketball atmosphere.

Unlike most of you...when I played basketball I actually did play above the rim... :)...any way, I'm no snob. I love watching our women's team play...I will always take the time to watch a collection of talented athletes playing with a sense of pride, purpose and cohesion. They embody everything positve about basketball.

To the haters...if he were here with us, John Wooden would call you a dick..... :)

My smart alack remark was going to be "Don't try to turn left after the women's game. Traffic won't let you since it's a double header." Unlikely that it is that people will be showing up for the men's game when the women's game is over, I learned that at the last "double header."

Watching the men is awfully tempting with this offer, though.
