Seniors Thomas and Brown combine for 48 points today. Who are our go-to scorers next year?

Crawford? 5' 6" guy can't be your go-to guy. Calhoun? Too inconsistent. Black? Not enough offensive game.

If you think we struggle offensively this year...wait until next year.

Calhoun and Crawford will be fine next year. We need outside shooting to spread the floor but scoring won't be a big deal-or a bigger deal then this year.

You have more confidence in them than I do. I think you are underestimating what Brown and Thomas do for us offensively. Those are the only two this year that can knock down a 3 or a 15 foot jump shot with any consistency. If we don't have that threat next year, teams can collapse even more on Calhoun. God help us if you are counting on Crawford to be supply consistent scoring for us next year. I'd love to coach against BG and know I have to gameplan for their 5'6" point guard who's prone to turnovers and not much of a stand still shooter.

Same problem as with this year's women. They lose too many players and too many points to be any good. Oh, wait....

We don't often recruit "go-to" players for the men's program, we develop "go-to" players. I wasn't that impressed with Thomas as a freshman. Thought he was too thin and thankfully he developed his game and physically to become a solid player.

I see Cam Black developing with some bumps along the way - Coach Orr is dialing up the pressure on him as he chews on him more frequently. Big reliance on him next year when Oglesby no longer provides the quick above the rim disruption inside. Couple big bodies inside off the bench to provide 10 fouls, 10 rebounds and couple of shot blocks would help the program greatly and let Black play a little looser.

Crawford attempts to do too much but has shown signs of maturity in his game (go ahead and torch me for this one if you must). I agree a consistant outside threat (preferably two) is an obvious need and hopefully Henderson, Orr, Clarke or Kraus fill those shoes.

Add two sharp shooters on the outside and some beef to the inside and Calhoun puts up big numbers but he needs help without a doubt.

What I have seen of Clarke I love. I think he'll be a gamer. Sealey has also shown the ability to score in limited action. I don't know if they will get you 48, but they could be potentially double figure guys next year. With Calhoun and Crawford there is potential there.

Don't really think you can compare our women's team to our men's team.

Well, of course you can- you can compare ANY two things. My point is people always step up- no one knew who would score for the women this year but somebody did. Next year, someone will step up and get 10 or 12 a game and replace the ten or twelve a game that Brown or Thomas brought. I do think the loss of Thomas will really hurt- he's by far the most skilled and versatile player on the roster

Maybe you can help with comparing these. Most people seem to have a problem with it.

What? We DO NOT HAVE any go-to scorers this year. None of our seniors have filled that role with any regularity at all. We haven't had a go-to since Nate Miller.

Brown and Thomas give us 23ppg. What's more, Brown has been a sub .400 FG shooter for most of the year, has zero creativity, and rarely beats defenders off the dribble and finishes cleanly at the rim.

We won't have any damned problems replacing these 23ppg next year. So just knock it off right now.

This team will certainly miss the scoring of 2 of our programs 37 1000 pt scorers.

That said my guess is that Clarke takes up the slack for Brown. My guess on the minutes

1-Craw 30 - Clarke 10
2-Clake 20 - Kraus 20
3-Sealey 20 - Orr/Parker/Henderson/Erger 20
4-Calhoun 30 - Sealey 10
5-Black 25 - Holmes 15

Clarke and Sealey need to be on the floor 25-35 minutes per game next year. If necessary, Clarke or Crawford may need to move to the off-guard.

It's so hard to say what Holmes and Parker will give us next year. They both might be in the regular rotation immediately. Rorie is a giant question mark. Any reports or rumors on how he's doing and if he's content?

We have an open schollie. We need to use it on an extremely athletic wing player aroung 6-3 or 6-4. A Carlton Guyton type would fill the bill.

Erger won't start next year? I'm calling it right now he will at some point, and I'm not talking about senior night. I mean TO is shooting 80% from the floor this season and isn't playing 18 minutes a game. Nothing surprises me with Orr and how he manages minutes.
