Does this team finish with a winning record?

14-13 right now. Remaining schedule of:

vs Kent State
vs Miami
@ Buffalo

MAC tournament

I'll say 16-16.

Since taking over Orr has had 1 winning season, the 2008-2009 season where BG went 19-14.

*Every season has also included a win over a non-D1 program, that is counted towards the regular season total.

I'll say 17-16. Having a .500 record will be spun like the season was an accomplishment. When in all honesty this years MAC has 4 good teams, mediocre BG, Toledo (much improved), and a steaming pile of dog poop in 6 teams. Same old same old. BG will keep Orr atleast 1 more year. Most likely around .500 or slightly worse next year. What is most sad to me in all of this is how quietly a player like Scott Thomas will come and go in 4 years under Coach Orr. To me it says volumes to the lack of interest and energy in the program.

Nope. We probably beat Miami, but I see that as our only win left...including the tournament. Sorry, just been accustomed to it I guess.

I see a loss at Buff and a win against Miami. The home game against Kent is a toss up. I see us going 1-1 in the MAC tournament, and then the players will thankfully be able to focus solely on their classes and ignore the weight room altogether.

So, 16-16 or 17-15. Another meaningless, throw-away year where the seniors didn't WIN and the younger players remained under-developed.

I doubt that BG can afford to buy out Orr, but he's certainly not on track to be renewed.

I've seen enough of Coach Orr to know that we'll never be more than this mediocrity with him. This was his year. All his recruits, a couple seniors who have played a ton, some promising youth, etc, etc. Even still his players haven't gotten better in his tenure...almost nobody has truly developed under him.

I'm ready to move on, but I have a feeling we won't. This was a year we should have competed for the title (if our coaching staff was going to be able to do so), and we didn't. But I don't see the athletic department firing him after a .500 year...even though they should. With the Stroh center we need higher standards, IMO.

I think the reason the Nate Miller team did so well his senior year was the coaching change. Those seniors had been coached so hard by Dakich, the change to Orr allowed them to just play as seniors. I would love to see a change made while you still have Calhoun and not after. Wait until after next season, and you could have a roster of guys who really struggle to score. Oh, and Orr should be held accountable for the absolute waste of a scholarship on Erger. He should have been politely asked to find another school at a smaller level to play at, where he could get more playing time.

I tend to agree with Hammb on Coach Orr. We've been around the .500 mark for the last 4 years and I don't see us getting better. Coach Orr is a classy guy and good rep of the University but I expected to challenge for the MAC title this year with everyone back. We have a brand spankin new arena and need some energy and excitement about the program. There is no reason why BGSU shouldn't be competing for titles in the division and/or conference.

I see us beating Kent State and Miami but losing at Buffalo. 16-14, 9-7 MAC. Not bad but not good enough, IMO.

BTW, the Kent State game notes on the official site has KSU leading BG in the all time series. Um, no. It may seem that way since Kent has had their way with us over the last ten years....BG leads 80-67.

GO BG!

Yup. This reminds me of one of my favorite lines from Pulp Fiction. "...and if you were going to make it, you would've made it by now."

14-17. Be honest, people. I predicted a losing record and finishing near the bottom of the MAC. I may have predicted we would be in the basement this year. We'll lose the last three, then lose the first tournament game and put this season to rest.

Now...I've set the stage for the team to actually prove me wrong...or for Orr to be released.

We have Orr for 2 more seasons. It's extremely unlikely that BG has the cash money to buy him out, or justify the $336K that it would take to do so. (From the board's point of view, his record is mediocre but not horrible, and he has a MAC COTY under his belt.)

Maybe we could get Diane who donated 250,000 to the women's program to withdraw that donation until Orr is released or maybe she will direct that money for a buyout.

Maybe we could move Coach Miller to coach our men's team and bring back Kate Achter to take over the women's program. Yeah right. Wishful thinking.

First note of business if a new coach were to come in. 1. Put Crawford as your first sub off the bench. 2. Place Erger on the practice squad.

I do see us beating both Kent and Miami and losing to UB. More than likely we will face CMU or Ball State in the tournament and we win that. We will go 3-2 over our last 5 games.
