BG sweeps the 'Hawks!!

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Falcons win 56-51! Very cool...Ohio is down to Kent and it would be great to see Kent lose and fall into a tie with us. However, at last check, the Flashes are up by 12.

GO FALCONS!!! BEAT BUFFALO!!!!

BGFan and I were at the game tonight (thanks for the tix, Steve & Rhonda!). It was BGFan's first time in The Stroh! Nice to get the win, but thought we were going to lose it 2nd half when we went COLD on so many shots!!! Great to pull it out over these guys!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I'm not a fan of Crawford's game...and I really don't want my 5-6" PG jacking up threes with the game on the line in the last five minutes. But...he had the balls to assert himsef when it seemed others weren't up for the challenge and he hit the shots. You have to respect that kind of leadership....

Yes! That has been one of my points of respect for Crawford all year.

Erger came in and provided "quality" minutes tonight as well. LOL How Henderson and Erger are in the game at the point, after basically not playing all season is amazing to me. That reminded me of last years MAC Tournament where Thomas sat 5+ minutes with Erger in the game, while BG's season was on the line. A win is a win, but the energy is going to have to be much higher than that to make a run.

Give Erger credit...he hit the backboard with that one shot he took.

It hit the backboard on the way down.

AFTER it had sailed over the rim.

Ugh...how he has a scholarship I'll never understand.

Erger wouldn't be 1 of the top 5 players to play in the High School playoffs the next 2 weeks at the Stroh Center.

Be careful now. I have a feeling Globe thinks Erger will give us 15 min per game and average a double double next year.

Just remember - Erger is one of us

Post by transfer2BGSU »

Enough of the negative Erger comments

1. Remember, he is a student-athlete. He is not a professional athlete.

2. Remember that he is a member of OUR team. He is out there each day at practice and each game giving it his all for OUR team.

3. Remember that he has a family and friends that might just read this board as well (and good for them to be able to hold their tongue for such a long time). I'm sure they do not like it that a bunch of "anonymous" people are trashing their son, grandson, nephew, uncle, or friend for no good reason at all.

It would be one thing if James were a cancer on the team and had an attitude that made the locker room insufferable.
It would be one thing if James acted in a manner that brought disrespect to his team, his teammates, and to OUR university.

I'm not saying James is the Michael Jordan of our team. I'm not saying he is even the Scottie Pippen of the squad. Heck, he may not even be the Rich Shields of our team, but the fact of the matter is the kid is out there representing OUR school. Show a little class and show him some respect. He wears the uniform of OUR team.

He IS one of US.

Number 2,365,891 and moving up! Only 137,893 posts and I'll be right there with H2Oville on their board.

Ya know, I've never understood all of the criticism of our boy JE. I've always thought of him as a reasonably decent player who is just a notch below those playing ahead of him.

I've always felt Erger was very deserving of his schollie. Two-time all-state in Texas, averaged 28ppg if I remember right and had great grades to back it all up. I think he's underachieved but I don't think we have business saying he didn't earn a D-I scholarship.
