Why does the MAC maintain the East/West division format for hoops? The ACC has maintained divisions for football, but go to a non-division league for other sports.
Here's how the ACC set up the basketball schedule for a 12 team league playing 18 conference games. They've also come up with a format for when they go to 14 teams when Pitt and SU show up that is much like this one.

Re: Division format for Hoops?
I've always wondered that as well, as it seems like the MAC is the only conference with football divisions that use those divisions for basketball as well. It seems pointless to anymore, especially since seeding for the tournament is no longer based on division standing

Re: Division format for Hoops?
Now that West Virginia has joined for soccer they may change basketball to non-division status.
