Florida Transfer?

I don't follow basketball much, but is there any chance BG has a shot at landing Walter Pitchford? He wants to play closer to home which is Grand Rapids, MI. After reading many posts on here, I figured if he was good enough to ride the bench in Florida, he's good enough to start as a Falcon.

Not likely. Our staff is most likely not aware he is looking to transfer. Plus, we haven't had a transfer in since Graves (sp)?, who never played, and the kid from San Jose St who was awful and quit midseason after sitting out a year. Orr told the Sentinel he "wants to use the last scholarship wisely if we do use it." HUH? Is he joking? You have how many seniors next year? Why wouldn't you use it? Maybe Lou and the staff are just going to take the next month off and just hope to find a shooter at the outdoor courts next fall.

I guess if they don't need it, maybe they should give it to baseball who had a couple of theirs taken away by GC. I will guarantee they will USE it!

They cut baseball schollies? Wow..this is the first I've heard of that....
So far as this kid goes...I've spent a lot of time in that part of Michigan. I'm almost positive that Kalamazoo, East Lansing, Mount Pleasant, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor are all closer to this kids ancestral home of Grand Rapids than BG is...

Of those 50, how many are they not going to use?

JD Weatherspoon, a very talented big (6-6) is transferring from Ohio State after only one year.
If he came to BG, he'd be an immediate starter (well he'd have to sit out a year) and would probably make quite an impact -- which is why I'm dead certain Coach Orr (1) either doesn't know about him or (2) has contacted him.
No doubt some other key MAC schools, like Ohio, Kent or Akron will be in the running for him.
Meanwhile, Jordan Sibert, a guard from Cincinnati, is also likely to transfer out of OSU after one year. The odds on favorite for his services right now is Dayton.

You would make a great weatherman.
Tomorrow there is a chance of rain, there is a chance it will not rain.
Tomorrow there is a chance the sun will shine, or not.

No chance that while he was considering whether to stay or to go, that he hasn't already narrowed down his list of schools to possibly include those other MAC schools you listed?

Generally speaking....I don't like basketball transfers that are "moving down". They seem to disappoint more often than succeed.
