BG vs. CSU
BG vs. CSU
BG down 7-0 at the 16:00 mark. Another slow start and what a surprise, no scoring yet either.
GO BG!!!

Re: BG vs. CSU
I'm listening on the radio and from the sounds of it, BG just alley-ooped three straight possessions. One to Calhoun, two to Holmes. I actually like the sound of our offense so far, other than Clarke's shooting and Crawford's turnovers. Our defense sounds like it has some holes though.

Re: BG vs. CSU
Great effort tonight. Calhoun with a career high but sounds like he had 0 points in OT. We were up 2 with less than a minute left after a Holmes ally-oop and were up by 1 with Orr at the line with less than 3 minutes in OT. He missed the add 1 FT, CSU hits a 3 and turns over Crawford to score again to lead by 3. And that was the game. Nevertheless, CSU is a pretty good team. Didn't really expect us to compete as well as we did so good for them. Go BG
Re: BG vs. CSU
What a shocker....led nearly the entire second, blow the lead, then fall in OT. No damn outside shooting, again. I think we had three three-pointers with AC hitting two of them going 3-16 maybe from three. What a wasted effort by AC as he goes for 30 or something. But no other scorer in double figures?? And Crawford with costly turnovers down the strech of regulation and overtime. When the hell are we going to either get, or play, a kid who can shoot and score from outside???
GO BG!!!
Re: BG vs. CSU
No one on the roster can shoot the three. Crawford acting like he has guns that he puts back into his holster after he makes a three is very bush league. Orr must get better at coaching these kids in tight games. I would bet he wins 30 percent of close games.
Re: BG vs. CSU
My favorite part is that our lack of shooting was obvious, yet we gave last schollie to another project big. Nothing like having 3 6'9" or tall guys at the end of the bench while Kraus tosses up bricks for the 4th straight year. We will be seeing zone from most teams we play here very soon. Atleast we have alot of big bodies for practice. Not good when we lose the games that Calhoun does show up for either.
Re: BG vs. CSU
Gary Waters is in a rebuilding year with nine freshman and sophmores on his roster...and he still manages to beat BG. CSU will be a mid-major beast in a couple of years out of the Horizon League. Coaching plays such a huge role in college basketball.

Re: BG vs. CSU
Hi folks. I haven't posted here in forever, I used to a lot. No real single reason I stopped other than just not being able to find the time, although as an unabashed homer I guess some of the negativity bothered me. I certainly still follow all the teams non-stop and read here when I can. Feels good to freshen up my profile.
Anyway, ironically I have a negative post, and didn't know where else to vent my frustration. No matter how this season of BG basketball turns out, we let a golden opportunity slip away tonight. I hadn't seen anyone else mention that:
-We blew a chance to play a Big 10 (and top 10) team in Michigan tomorrow night, unless they somehow find a way to lose to IUPUI.
-Said game vs. Michigan will be on ESPN2 at 8 p.m., now featuring Cleveland State
-Had BG been able to pull off a miracle and beat Michigan, they'd get two games at Madison Square Garden. (Pie in the sky, but hey who knows).
The reason I was excited about playing the Preseason NIT was that it's one of the last remaining REAL early season tournaments, where the semi-finalists aren't pre-determined regardless of the early games, as a lot of them are. I think that was the case with whatever we played in when we were at Georgia last season. While the folks at MSG and ESPN are certainly assuming (hoping) the hosts Michigan, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Kansas State all advance, if one of the others broke through to NYC, that's life.
Just a golden opportunity that slipped away tonight to play a possible National Championship contender in a nationally televised ESPN game tomorrow. And then a dream opportunity to maybe knock them off and play at MSG.
Sorry for the Captain Obvious post and the unlikely "could-haves," but where else could I vent? If BG hadn't peed away a 7-point second-half lead and didn't turn the ball over holding for one at the end, I'd be taking things better. It's usually not THAT they lose, I can deal with that. It's HOW they lose. Guh.

It's actually been 35 months since I've posted anything...looking back at some of the latest posts I had, I was pretty much wrong about everything. Probably good I took a break.

Welcome back NY. And don't worry...if being right was a prerequisite to post here, it'd be a very quiet board.

Re: BG vs. CSU
Didn't listen to the game as some family matters intervened, but hate to say I told you so...re: we'll see what this team is about re: after playing CSU which starts FOUR Sophs.
Bottom line is that Gary Waters knows how to coach AND develop players. He's proven that at Kent, Rutgers, and now at CSU.
I'm not going to knock anyone at this stage, neither coach nor players until I get a chance to see them in action. Just too bad it had to be "p_d away" according to some of you.](/img/ayziggyzoomba/58/58/54314911ff35ed959956620e68458f73.gif)
