Any reason that Cam Black is receiving less playing time and not even starting this year? Is he injurred?

If not, this is probably the biggest indictment on Orr's tenure. Here is a big bodied kid coming into this junior year after having started or at least played signifigant minutes his first two years. He should be coming into this own as a player with experience and knowledge of the college game and Orr's system.

Instead, he can't even crack the starting lineup of a team that might not win 10 games?

Something's not adding up here.

If that's the case, then I feel a little better about the situation.

It may be because Richaun Holmes is an athletic freak and has beaten him out for the 5 spot.

He has been hurt. Didn't play in scrimmage, didn't play in the exhibition. We gave him about 10 minutes in the opener and I believe he played more tonight. His minutes will definitely increase. But yes, Holmes is an absolute beast and I believe can have a bigger impact that Cam. Either way, Cam's minutes will continue to increase as health becomes less of an issue.

So why was Gomez brought in?

Black had 13 very productive minutes last night. I think he has improved and if he can get healthy, he will be an effective player.

Given his injury history and lack of offense...I'd just a soon see him get back up minutes to reduce the wear and tear on his knee

Holmes is a stud. We recruited Gomez last year and we had one schollie left. He looks super unathletic frOm the very brief glimpses I have seen. Rorie and Gomez are probably both not going to ever do much here
