You know in the last two weeks, Mick McCabe, the respected and senior high school sports editor at the Detroit Free Press, listed the top 100 boys basketball players in Michigan. Tisdale was not on the list. Kind of odd since most players that get D1 scholarships are ususally listed.

Not that odd considering the other schools he had offers from, and something about him being the first player in his league to receive a D1 scholarship. I think it's safe to assume Orr is not landing above average MAC talent based on the lack of freshman that have made an impact since he has been coach.

That's gross. I'm so sick of Orr bringing in big guys who couldn't do squat in high school.

5 of 8 from beyond the 3 point line but below 50 percent at the line? Where do we find these winners?

Mick McCabe has been covering HS sports in Michigan for at least 35 years...I've been reading his column since I was in HS and there was a lot of noise about some kid in Lansing named "Magic". If Tisdale was generating some buzz, Mick would have heard about it.

That's funny Flip........I was living in Jackson at the time and saw that "Johnson" kid play 8-10 times in his HS career. I was just thinking the other day and comparing he and Vito at about the same time in their HS career. Comparing might not be the right word!!!! ;)

Hey Flipper,

Do you remember that championship game between Magic's Lansing Everett team and Brother Rice? I believe it went to OT when Kevin Smith launched a long, long shot to tie it. No three pointer then. Magic and Jay Vincent won anyway. I believe Smith played at Minnesota but one of the biggest shots I've ever seen made in high school.

factman...my parents moved us out to Perrysburg Twp for my Sr year of HS. I was pretty bummed until I realized that I could pick up the Lansing TV station that carried MSU hoops with our tower antenna. I think I saw just about every home game of Magic's soph year.

fred...I vaguely recall that game. I did get to see Magic, Vincent, John Flowers and Kevin "Deisel" Nash against a Russian jr team in Toledo right after Johnson finished his sr year. Still have the program someplace..

Maybelen's numbers are down from his junior year, which is extremely disappointing. Wonder if he's been injured.

Tisdale has looked flat-out spectacular in various video clips that I've seen. I'm extremely confident that he's well within the top 100 in Michigan, and I don't care what some sportswriter didn't write.

Mayleben is 3-15 in the last two games. He will fit in nicely.

If anyone wants to get really excited Maybleen....

Milford plays in a league where it is pretty much twice the size of the other schools in the league. On most night he's being guarded by 6'2 centers.

On February 5th they play Springboro where he'll go against Illinois recruit, Maverick Morgan. I'm going to try and make it to that one.
