Hey Falcons...
I live in Akron and rarely get a chance to see the basketball team play. Does our team have a shot to win a game and go to Cleveland for the MAC tournament (so I can watch them play... perhaps lose.... in person)?? I know that they were competitive most nights last year....

Well does BG has a shot to make it to Cleveland? Yes. Toledo is ineligible, and the MAC has about 5 dog poop teams including BG. Does this team have a chance to win a game in Cleveland? Maybe. I suggest you take a vacation day the day after, either way. This team is a must drink to watch.

I suggest you put your interest in BG basketball on hold until we get a new coach and the program gets back on track. Going to games this year will be most dissatisfying. If it has been a while, make it a little while longer and don't waster your time in March.

Glad you mentioned about Toledo post season ban this year due to low APR scores. I haven't check the MAC website to see how they are handling this but I assume they may go with 5 first round byes and then the other 6 face off and those 3 winners join the 5 byes. Can't see how else it would work. Last year they did first and second round byes but with an odd number this year with Toledo ineligible I don't see that format working.

I'm pretty certain that is how the tournament will go. 5 byes, and 3 games winners to Cleveland. Either way, the first 2 games in Cleveland could be a couple real thrillers between awful teams. If BG can't get to Cleveland this year, Mr. Orr should have his office key taken as soon as the game ends. #FireOrr

Can we make it to Cleveland this year? Yes. Is this team talented enough to win a playoff game or two? Yes. Is this team playing well enough to win a playoff game or two? Jury's out since we're only two games into the conference schedule but it doesn't look good right now.

It would be a real disappointment to have two consecutive seasons end in one and dones. IIRC Dakich's last two years (05-06 and 06-07) were one and dones in the conference tournament. I think in 04-05 we won the first round then lost in Cleveland.

Speaking of which, when is the last time the team made it to the conference final four? Spring 2009? When is the last time the team played in the conference championship?

2002-2003 with McLeod, Matela, and Pardon. Team that should of been an NCAA Tournament team, but mid majors didn't get bids hardly then, and Kent went to the elite 8. With Orr we have no hope, or in this case, no prayer. #FireOrr

I do have one. I look at it about once a month. For how narcissistic face book is Twitter is about a million times worse. I have actually turned my facebook news feed into a news feed like Twitter.
