Largest Attendance for the Stroh

We could possibly have the largest attendance of a basketball game for the Stroh Center on Wednesday night. Otsego (10 min from the Stroh) will face Toledo Scott in one semi final, while Bowling Green will face Sandusky in the other semi final. The arena will sell out, only question is how many SRO tickets will be sold.

If I'm the Stroh Center staff I'm pulling for BG and Otsego to win and face each other next Saturday night at the Stroh

Both will be underdogs in the semi-finals.

The Stroh is a perfect venue for a high school tournament game.

Well, and it certainly would be absurd to think that our COLLEGE team could have the potential boost its ongoing attendance.

I would be shocked if either game is sold out on Wednesday night.

It's not absurd to think that several players playing on Wednesday not named Vitto Brown are better players than 2 seniors on the current BGSU roster.

Sad, Sad, Sad

Millions of dollars thrown into the basketball program to build a new arena and in two years, we're going to see a HS district semi-final or potentially a HS district final be the largest crowd. That speaks volumns about the basketball programs at the University.

It speaks volumes for one program, the men's program. I don't think it speaks volumes for the women's program that has won some MAC championship eight straight years to go along with eight postseasons apperances (should be nine postseason apperances in a few weeks, there are enough tournaments out there they'll likely make one if they don't win the MAC tourney). No matter how good the women's basketball program is though some people simply aren't going to go because its women's basketball and they don't find it entertaining.

Also I doubt either game Wednesday or Saturday outdraws the NCAA Tournament games from last spring

I don't know much about NW Ohio basketball. But, is 4,500 considered a large crowd for a district semi-final, there? It's not hard to get a large crowd with 4 teams, especially when 1 is down the road, 1 is 10 minutes away, and 1 is 20 minutes away.

I would think that would easily be a complete sellout.

Otsego will bring no more that 600-750 people.

I stand corrected, those were sell outs.

If I'm not mistaken I believe the games will be split sessions. I saw Sandusky Perkins last year in the district final against Defiance at the Stroh and they had maybe 300 people there. Toledo Scott might bring a couple hundred fans.

These games are NOT split sessions. One ticket gets you in for both.

And for anyone going, please stop at BW3 before the games and help support the BGHS After-Prom fund Raiser! Thanks!
