Louis Orr, please resign....

...you've failed decisively. Give the university the opportunity it deserves.
If you do stay...whatever you do, please do not use your remaining scholarships. Leave those for your successor. Fill any roster spots with walk-ons and muddle through your final season that nobody will pay attention to.

Dear G-d, please tell Louis Orr to resign.

The horse is dead. Go outside. Get some fresh air. Maybe some exercise. It's going to be okay. There are more important things in the world to worry about.

Despite his religious babbling, Coach Orr is going to look out for Coach Orr first and foremost. He is not going to simply give up a very nice salary and benefits, regardless of how badly he's failed at his job these many years; and I'm sure he doesn't care that he's sullied the program with his poor coaching, player development and recruiting.
He'll be sure to get his before he's ultimately booted out the door.

I'm sure coaches know when the end is near. Last year, Orr was under a lot of pressure to perform and the post-season bid probably got him this year. Now, he's in the last year of his contract and I hope he's been told that there will not be a renewal at the end of this or next year. Dakich knew it, Larranaga knew it, Pat Haley knew it, and I'm sure Weinert suspected it, although he was a little busy and didn't care at the time.
I guess, since the AD made a promise to the coach that he would employ him for 7 years, it's a noble thing to honor that promise. It's usually the BG way, unless you've done something severly horrible, read Dee Knoblauch, embarassed yourself, read Gregg Brandon, or have lost control of the team (read anyone who gets their name on page 5 of the police blotter news).
Orr has done none of that, and for that reason alone, he gets to stay. We bitch about the Stroh Center, and attendance, but seriously, the university again could help themselves when it comes to attendance. Look at our hated rivals up north. A women's season basketball ticket cost about $60. If you could get season tickets for $60 and walk-up tickets for $7 or $8 in the Stroh Center and concessions that were priced fairly, there'd be a lot more families willing to spend an evening of basketball. Bring back the doubleheaders! This stupid Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday thing and the odd Tuesday game thrown in is hard.
We need the football promotions people to take over Stroh center promotions. Now that can do more for BG basketball than anything else but winning. Then with winning the prices can be raised.

I agree that I wish there were more doubleheaders, but the scheduling you are talking about is from the conference portion of the schedule. We have no control over that, the MAC schedules those games. We had a couple doubleheaders this past season in the nonconference part of the schedule, nothing you can do about that though if the MAC keeps scheduling conference games the way they do.

Orr was just on college gameday for an interview about the rivalry between Syracuse and Gtown. They asked him how he was doing to start the interview. He opened with "To god be the glory". Stop throwing your darn religion in everyone's face. You are at a public government state school and should not be allowed to do it.

I'm agnostic and believe a literal interpretation of the bible is wrong.
Just wanted to add some more of my thoughts about this and I have decided to tell my religious viewpoint before I make any statements for now on because that seems like a normal thing to do. I agree with whoever said he won't go anywhere, I wouldn't. If someone paid me this well to have a great job I would love it.

They need to put a gag order on Coach Orr constantly referring to God this and God that. BGSU is a state school and believe it or not this type of ranting and raving is offensive to many.
Good Lord, what would he say if he were interviewed after winning the MAC tournament and then on to the Sweet 16?

To god be the glory
To god be the glory
To god be the glory
To god be the glory
To god be the glory
To god be the glory
I'm gonna start every post of mine in this forum with that saying from now on

Tom Crean mentioned god's grace in an interview just now on CBS, he works for a public school, better fire him, can't have any of that

Does he mention it every single interview he does?
