Freshman Reggie McAdams for Akron is a nice player and fits nicely into their system. Does anyone remember if BG recrcuited this kid from Northwest Ohio (Elida)?
Scout says Akron and Kent were his only two offers. Why can't we find a 6' 7" kid that knows the game, can shoot and contribute as a freshman?

Re: Reggie McAdams
I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered we DID recruit McAdams, but in football, not basketball.(he was a pretty good QB IIRC). That said, I hate like heck to see kids from the BG general area wind up with other MAC teams...(anyone remember a kid named Ben......?)
But then again, I don't see us recruiting NE Ohio in basketaba
ll either and there are many good, solid players this year, and MANY are currently underclassmen.

Akron has three freshman on the floor together right now...McAdams, Kretzer and Bentancourt. Why is it that our freshman can't even see the floor during a sub 500 season?

Re: Reggie McAdams
Zack Garber 6'10" from VAnlue, can run the floor, shoot the 3, 80% FT shooter, still growing, etc was totally ignored by BG and is going to Toledo on a full Scholarship. Coach K or Toledo rep was at just about all on his games the past two years.
Look for him to slam the ball home on BG over the next couple of years.

And had he come to BG everyone would have said Vanlue is too small of a school and he put up all those numbers vs weak competition and that its another terrible decision by Coach Orrzete wrote:Zack Garber 6'10" from VAnlue, can run the floor, shoot the 3, 80% FT shooter, still growing, etc was totally ignored by BG and is going to Toledo on a full Scholarship. Quite the contrary. We'd be stunned because Orr usually only seems to recruit big guys that can't put up numbers in hs.

Elida is about 25 min from where I live and in the same conference, so we played him every year. He is an incredible athlete in both football and basketball and a lights out shooter. Sure would have been nice to have here...

Didn't see him at all in the MAC Championship game -- where was he?

Re: Reggie McAdams
Time will tell if McAdams will be a starter in the future. As someone who has watched most of the Akron games, McAdams is kind of a specialist... a spot up shooter. He does well in that roll but I am not sure anyone knows if he can handle the ball as a one or have the ability to beat anyone off the ball. Akron has had the ability to use a nine man rotation this year, which is part of their success. I guess it helps that they have nine serviceable players...Rollo83 wrote:Freshman Reggie McAdams for Akron is a nice player and fits nicely into their system. Re: Reggie McAdams
We recruited McAdams in BB (and evaluated him in FB) and Garber. Both with purpose. Neither chose BGSU.
