What If?

Well for the whole season, there were a lot of complaints about minutes played by certain players, so I decided to put those second guesses into action. I played the whole BG season on What If Sports.com Sim Matchup. I started Clarke at the 2G and Holmes at C. Erger was given mostly garbage bench time and Kraus was the backup at both G slots. Black was limited to 10-12 minutes a game. Other players were normal fill-ins.
So the season started out great with an 81-53 trouncing of Cleveland State in which Holmes had 19 pts and 7 blocks but the old inconsistency hit the next night in a loss to IUPUI 63-54. Really that's the way the whole season played out. Some good nights and some equally bad nights, mostly on the road. The final season W/L was 16-17 and 7-9 in the MAC. Slightly better than actual but the Falcons did win the first round MAC tourney game over Miami 82-72 before going to Cleveland for a 68-59 loss to EMU. I didn't keep the individual stats for the season (a lot of work) but Crawford broke out for 27, 26 and 24 in two victories and a loss for the most points in a game. Holmes biggest night was the opener though he led the team in losses to MSU and Wright State as well. The season's lackluster ending was a typical low scorer in which Crawford led the way as the only double digit scorer at 10. All in all, only a small improvement and principally created by using Holmes more.
