News of signings doesn't normally show up until day 2 of the period.

This is because Orr uses day 1 just to walk around and shrug his shoulders before the big announcements.

Noticed in the Cleve. PD today that BOTH Akron and KSU have signed new players. The rich getting richer?

The coaches like the fans are just riding out contracts.

Decent basketball programs actually doing what they are supposed to do. Meanwhile, at BG, we'll likely not sign another player and the players we do have will waste a year of the career playing for a coach that has no future in the program.

Very true or worse, according to speculation by Ryan Autullo, working behind the scenes to catch on with Kowalczyk at Toledo.

I hope this isn't true, because this is about as bad as it gets if it is. The fact that signing day has come and gone and we might not even use our full complement of scholarships is not much better.

I hope it is true. However, Toledo doesn't want these guys.

Disagree entirely. IF the AD is sticking us with another season of the Orr the least they can do is NOT let him recruit anymore players. The last thing we want is bringing in lesser talent just to fill the scholarships.

Bottom line is you're not going to get a player with other options to sign with this lame duck coach. Save those scholarships for next year so the next coach can make an immediate impact with new talent.

Yup.

Also, let's consider the fairness to the current roster of players. Given that Orr is a lame duck, how can next season be anything other than a throw-away year for the players? Motivation, direction, focus, and team dynamics aren't going to be present. The players are short changed as a result.

He will sign players. They will be signed late and be non factors during their BG career.

speaking of signing day....

Honest question, would we lose to Owens?

Better question, did we ever recruit these guys? Their Head Coach worked under Orr! Also, what is the word on their other guy they have-the PG, Retic?

Careful!! You might upset Orr's wife's best friend, or "Roll Along" as known on this site. We don't want another breakdown of how finishing in the middle to the end of the MAC every year is ok in this decade of the MAC. Give me a break..........

You're probably right, but I want BG basketball to succeed, and I'm just delusional enough to hope they could land a couple players with talent (probably by default or accident, admittidly) that can help us win.
