I'm going to buy in for at least a few weeks so we might as well start here. How do you see he lineup shaping up this year?

Here's an article I have not seen posted
http://www.bgsufalcons.com/news/2013/9/ ... ath=mbball

Pg Jehvon Clarke Jr. 6-1 - JD Tisdale Fr. 6-4 - DeMarkeo Lyshe Jr. 5-11
Sg Anthony Henderson Jr. 6-1 - Zach Denny Fr. 6-2
Sf Chauncey Orr Jr. 6-4 - Craig Sealey Sr. 6-6
Pf Richaun Holmes Jr. 6-8 - Spencer Parker So. 6-7 - Garrett Mayleben Fr. 6-9
C Cam Black Sr. 6-10 - Josh Gomez So. 6-10

1. Chauncey started 31 of 32 games. He should start. He is a solid glue player who does everything adequately and nothing great. You can be a solid team with him as your fourth or fifth best player. No real flash but can score a bit and has size to rebound and smarts to run the offense.
2/3. Cam Black is all but assured to be manning the center spot. He will be spelled often by Richaun Holmes but I would hope that the coaches find wisdom enough to play them both at the same time. Black is a great on the ball defender in the post and Holmes is a great off the ball post defender. I imagine that they will form the toughest interior defense in the MAC. I would love to see both shoot more in the post.
4. Craig Sealey is a wild card who will probably see the majority of his time backing up the forward spots. He can play either one and is probably the best athlete on the team. He needs more minutes and more shots.
5. Jehvon Clarke looks All-MAC at times but has not been consistent or given a consistent role with the team. He has a great step to the basket and has flashed the ability to be a solid passer but his ball handling can't catch up to his speed at times. He could thrive with more pt.
6. Anthony Henderson is another guy who hasn't been able to get a consistent role under Orr. He might start one game then play sparingly the next. At times he has seemed ok but doesn't seem to have tremendous upside.
7. Spencer Parker rounds out the returning group. He's a strong combo forward who could end up being a tough utility forward if you get scoring elsewhere.
NEW GUYS
8. Josh Gomez has size but not much of a resume in terms of stats. He is an unknown.
9. JD Tisdale is the most exciting recruit in my eyes as he looked to have explosive athleticism and point guard vision something that is rare here. If we had a coach with a different history of playing younger players or playing players at a variety of positions a lineup of Tisdale and Clarke might be very dynamic. We might have to wait until next year for it though.
10. Zach Denny is hopefully the outside shooter this team has needed for a very long time. He might really thrive with the spacing that Clarke and/or Tisdale can create and two solid post guys.
11. Garrett Mayleben looks the part but didn't put up tremendous numbers in HS. Hopefully he develops.
12. DeMarkeo Lyshe returns as a walk on who played well in the chances he was given. I hope he sees more time.

Wow! I wish I had this much to say about BG Men's Basketball.

Looking at the summary of the Orange and Brown scrimmage, I didn't see Denny's name mentioned at all...Is he hurt? Hard to believe that the leading scorer in Ohio couldn't have hit at least a couple of buckets.

Yeah, again, coach Orr will play his D-ll talent kid out of position at small forward ahead of a vastly more talented Craig Sealey. Shoot me know. This alone demotivates me to come out for games.

I don't think Sealey played at all. Is he still suspended? Was he ever.

I like Chauncey a bit, not more then Sealey but I think he belongs on a D1 team.

I tweeted the below to both Jason Knavel and Jack Carle. Anyone else who might know and respond?

How did the new guys look? Mayleben, Gomez, Tisdale? Did Denney play? How about Sealey? Did any walk ons make it from the tryout?

Knavel reported that a sealy and Denny both have some injuries. Two walk ons are with the team but not updated yet.

Asked carle who he would compare the three newbies to?

@jncarle: @r_wilhelm too early to tell Gomex will play inside, but Black and Holmes to start Mayleben on the wing, will take time Tisdale combo guard

Per Jack Carl's tweet: #BGSU Both Denny and Sealey are practicing, but not ready for the pace of the scrimmage

Denny isn't ready for the pace of a scrimmage with his teammates? How the hell will he do against a team with real players. Might as well red-shirt him.

Warthog, I think Denny's recovering from an injury and isn't ready game-pace action.

Denny had some minor knee surgery in late summer and is working through that. Some posters might want to relax just a tad until our 18 year olds actually play a few games :) He is practicing and getting ready. Sealey will be ready. We have the announced suspensions to work thru early.

We have a coaching staff, a team, a schedule and a building. We'll watch how it all goes. So will the new AD. I wish the guys and staff all the best. Our results have not been close to good enough in wins and losses. They- the staff- know it and we will see how it all goes.

Go Falcons!

I was not aware of Denney's injury. I apologize for my snarky comment.

But I might still want to red-shirt him so he can have four years with a new coaching staff.

Some return notes from Knavel

Hard to compare them to anyone else that I've seen. Tisdale is unique in being a point guard with size. He's flashy.Mayleben/Gomez can both stretch the defense with some perimter shooting. Mayleben, especially, has the body to bang inside.

Thanks for the info Globetrotter. I've been wondering the same things and answers are nowhere to be found but here.

Jack Carle described Mayleben as a wing?

I wonder if they would let one of us/or me go sit in on practice and then do a write up. That would be fun.
