I chuckled at the fact that we have the #1, #2 and #3 players in minutes played, yet none of them are our best player (Holmes).

And its only getting worse.

I'm not being a smartass by asking this, but how could you possibly be very surprised??? We basically have one guy giving us minutes off the bench (Tisdale) and two more who come in for a couple minutes out of necessity (Gomez and Lyshe). We play essentially six guys and five of them must start. Our starters are playing a ton of minutes and between injuries and the brilliant idea of not filling our scholarships, that decision has crippled our ability (or inability in this case) to tap into the bench for help. Because if there's one thing we have learned in the Orr era, it's that we've actually had some decent talent sitting on the bench (see Holmes from last year) that Orr didn't want to play. If we actually had that case this year, Orr might have been forced to actually put them on the floor. But we have nothing. Think about this if you are a starter - you have no one pushing you for minutes or to challenge you to take your job. You can half-ass it, jack up shots, turn the ball over, not play defense, and Orr still would essentially have to play you -because he must. That's a terrible state for a program to be in.
