Re: Richaun Holmes!!!
Just got back from the game...Holmes dominated the whole game!! Had a double double, a couple blocks, and some sweet alley oop slams. Great game overall to watch.

Don't confuse the young folks here with the Lew Alcindor talk.Flipper wrote:Went all old school Lew Alcindor on North Dakota going for 19 pts 12 rebs and 6 blocks in the second half !!

Just watched Ohio State beat Bryant University and realized that Tim O'Shea is coaching Bryant. I wondered what happened to him after he got canned at Ohio U.

O'Shea. Isn't that the family who had two brothers whom were fighting over a little league football team. Little Giants. Lol. O'Shea was one of my least favorite MAC coach. Right up there with Marshalls coach when they were in the MAC.

O'Shea left Ohio on his own accord. He was not fired.

I remember when he was Lew Alcindor and not Kareem...never really cared for him too much...Wilt was better.Rollo83 wrote:Don't confuse the young folks here with the Lew Alcindor talk.Flipper wrote:Went all old school Lew Alcindor on North Dakota going for 19 pts 12 rebs and 6 blocks in the second half !!

Re: Richaun Holmes!!!
Holmes was a beast last night. Had a great game, especially a great 2nd half.
All of our bigs had good games...which is to say Parker/Black/Holmes as they were the only ones that really played. Gomez was his usual self. I jokingly said when he came in, "Well let's hope he doesn't trip over his big goofy feet." Could hardly contain my laughter when he did just that and fell on his first defensive possession. I feel sorry for the kid, he just seems so awkward...
North Dakota was NOT a good team, and had no inside presence at all. We won going away by completely dominating in the paint. Our guard play was pretty atrocious. Clarke didn't force as many shots as he usually does, but got called for carries a couple times and could have been a few more. Sure felt like he had at least 6-7 turnovers. The other guys at guard weren't much better, although Lyshe did have one noticeable sweet pass for a (I think) Holmes dunk.
Overall it was a nice beating of a team we should beat. As I watch this group Parker & Holmes really stand out as true D1 basketball players. Black is, as he always has been, a solid contributor in the paint who just can't give you as many minutes as you'd like, but is quality when in there.
I see nothing I like from the backcourt at all. Turnovers, poor shooting, poor passing, etc. Again it'll be the guard play that makes this team crap...as has been the case for the past 6 years...

For what it's worth, North Dakota beat North Dakota State rather handily, and North Dakota State beat Notre Dame last night.

Sealey is day-to-day, according to The Blade.
As short-handed as we were, that was a nice win last night. Stayed out of foul trouble, which would have been deadly.

Re: Richaun Holmes!!!
Ya, and how clueless is Orr to worry about redshirting a kid when he won't be back next year anyway.
