Sealey out for the year???

Did anyone else catch them say that on TV yesterday? They were talking about Orr being out for the year then said Sealey was too. If that is the case, I believe he would be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt because I think he hasn't/wouldn't appear in the cutoff percentage of games played this year. I think the bigger question would be would he even want to come back if so?

A player is eligible for a medical redshirt if she doesn’t play in more than 30 percent of her team’s games in the regular season, according to NCAA bylaw 14.2.4. - See more at:

He will play in 18%. This is a good thing. No need to waste a good player on this forgotten season.

Denny has not played in 2 games. IMO you just redshirt him too and throw in some of the sweatsuit squad.

Is he a good player? Other questions to ask concerning this. Does the new coach want him for one year in favor of a new guy that would be here for four more? Would he get any minutes over Richaun Holmes at the 4? Would he get any minutes over Spencer Parker at the 3? Would he want to come back? (asked above)
I would answer no to all of those questions, unless he has school work to finish, then he might want to complete his degree while playing.
We used to laugh at this guy.........................
Dusan Radivojevic (career stats) PPG- 3.4 RPG-1.3 ASST-1.1 FG%-37 3PT%-32% FT%-86% STL-.5
Craig Sealy (career stats)..............PPG-3.4 RPG-2.1 ASST-0.2 FG%-44 3PT%-18% FT%-53% STL-.4

Craig Sealey is a far better player than Dusan ever was. Plus he is a great athlete. Keeping Sealey around is actually a benefit for the new coach because he won't get to start recruiting for next year until most of the desirable players have found homes. Sealey allows him a year to find a better player long term.

If Sealey does in fact get an additional year and wants to come back, I have the utmost faith whoever the next head coach is that he and his staff will find a way to incorporate Sealey and find a better way to utilize his talents than this coaching staff has ever, ever done.

Dusan played about twice as many minutes to get his 3.4 ppg. In typical Orr fashion, Sealey averaged about 10 minutes per game, but he can't figure out why Craig didn't score more, and this in the me, me, me game of Jordon Crawford.
Hell, even Cole Magner played 224 minutes or so, in his 15 games as a Falcon basketball player. Sealey? about 297 minutes IN 30 GAMES! Geeze, Kraus played twice as many minutes and Erger played more than Craig.
We laughed at Dusan because he wasn't very good. We didn't get to see that much of Sealey.

Hey Hoops Fan,
Dusan did not play about twice as many minutes to get his stats. His career minutes are at 15mpg and Sealy is at 11mpg
I can figure out why Craig didn't score more. His minutes have never been great, but that could be because his percentages are not good. Not from 3,2, or the FT line. In fact they are terrible.
If you use the Jordan Crawford excuse for Sealy, what do you say about Dusan playing with Samarco? He took the me, me, me game to levels maybe not scene before or since at BG.
I am not here to say one player is better than the other. I just find it interesting that one guy gets laughed at, and the other is stiring up excitement about a possible 5th year after a career of really nothing.

And what has that jumping ability done for him?
He is a bouncy guy that can't play on the perimeter because he can't shoot or handle the ball. He can't play inside because he is a little undersized and doesn't have any post moves. His jumping gives him the
potential to make a really nice dunk for 2 points.
The next answer is to blame the coaches, but younger guys have consistently come in the program and took Sealey's minutes at the 3 and 4 spot.

Erger played before Sealey. Let's move along.

I think that its pretty evident that Sealey is full of untapped potential that another/better coaching staff might be able to get out. Might is a key word there but when no one develops for 5 years I think you can blame the people in charge of that development.

I like Sealey as a guy that can give you some athleticism off the bench but he's always been a questionable player (even when healthy) due to being a total tweaner. Orr has always cast him as a post guy but he gets thrown around down there. He's too small, and while he is quicker than most guys he goes up against in that role, he's not been able to use it to his advantage with any regularity. If you move him out to the wing he doesn't give you much. He's not a great outside shooter, and he's never shown the ability to handle the ball well enough to get inside to do any real damage.
He's had a few games here and there where you say, "Wow." He's also got some raw athleticism that makes you think "potential." But in nearly 4 full seasons he's never improved to the point of being a good player. Is he better than Dusan? Probably at least marginally so, but he's not a great player by any stretch. Certainly, I'll gladly pile on Orr for the lack of development as almost nobody has developed in his tenure here, but in a discussion about solely the quality of this player it doesn't change things.
MAYBE a new coach could come in here and help Sealey get closer to utilizing his talent, I don't know. To me it's seemed as though Sealey was actually a better player when he was smaller...at least then he had a big quickness advantage inside. He got beat up, but at least he had that quickness. Now he's a a bigger and slower, but still undersized post player. And in typical Orr fashion, he's never developed any sort of outside game at all.
I'd like to have him back next year if he wants to come back, but I don't expect him to be more than a 6th/7th man regardless. He's not as good as Parker or Holmes, so I can't see him taking minutes from either of those two.
